The demo racers are... Racing?
Okay, I decided to go down to demo for a little bit to see how they were getting on with the new FB02. Well, I was pretty amazed.

They all actually having proper races. Not just messing about, dragging, "drifting" (Slicks :really or being a liability to the other racers. They were all racing properly, and generally having a good time.

Now I know that many demo racers are already like this, but it seemed that the majority where racing alongside each other.

Hopefully this will stay like this, as I think it's best that the demo racers see how it is to race in S2, thus hopefully upgrading.

Nice driving guys

I was there with you. You certainly seemed surprised to see such good racing. Long may it continue!
I certainly was! And it wasn't just that everyone was racing, it was also of a very high standard!
I know!

Before I got up to S1 I drove a lot of demo races. And because they were such high standard and very competitive, i upgraded to S1 / S2
yep checked just when teh servers fixed for me and saw some nice racing plus they were more welcoming and there was no "bullying" going on. I think they liked the new car
Jeez I haven't even touched the demo servers, I've just been messing about offline. Been meaning to zip out to an S2 server and see how things are going.
PS, whats with the setups? Mine don't show up in-game...

I think all the setups are now invalid due to physics changes. no need to worry, ian.h made an app where you can put them all into the test patch. Please bare in mind, it deletes the setups from where your extracting so please make backups.

Yeah I saw that, but it seems to errror out on me Allas I'll figure it out sometime...

They used to race XF GTis as well. Old news, weak sauce.

Setups are working properly, you just need to move your setups from "settings" folder to "setups" folder and rename the prefix (eg. FXO GTR => FXR)

I'm drifter and i just realized, what if i were a demo player like few months ago, if the XRT is removed from demo. And i recognized that this is the only way to stay playing LFS, XRG is still driftable but not as much as XRT, i think it could bore me after some time. And the new FB02 is really interesting, i was trying it few laps around SO Chicane Route and still loving it more and more ( btw i've never been interested in singleseaters or racing at all ), but with FB02 i discovered that it's very exciting, maybe i'll be driving more with singleseaters in future.
I always drift the XRG
Demo
Most people just piss about on the demo but if they are racing well it could be a problem. I think in some ways it is good that people piss about on the demo, because then other people (like myself) get annoyed and then we will at sometime upgrade to S2. Thats just my opinion. All i am saying is that if people are racing fine on Demo they may not see the piont in upgrading to S2, other than the fact that they will have more cars and tracks.
It works both ways.
Some will upgrade because they are tired of all the shit happening on the demo servers, and some will just leave, because they don`t want to pay for a game that have drivers like this (at least they belive that).
To be honest, I have upgaraded but I still only race on the Demo sure there are plenty of nobheads goin the wrong way etc etc, but I have also had some very good racing too.

Man, I don't remember anyone going wrong way for 2 years or smth...

Wrong way? What is that

I played demo a while, but I quit because it was too hard without a wheel. When I finally got a wheel, I tried again and it was amazing. But the racing really really sucked. And I kept reading about how those things don't happen on S2 servers, so one day I thought: what the hell, I go for it.
And if there is one game I don't regret buying, it's mafia.. But also LFS S2
Im with Polyracer, I have had s2 for a while but I go on Demo servers more than s2. If you go on the right servers at the right time you can meet some of the more hardcore racers, and the fact that they only have 1 track to practice on witha few cars means there very competative and fast racing. But then with it being the demo you do get alot of idiots roaming around.
Before I forked the $40 over, I raced in demo servers with the XRT. We had a blast, and it was for sure real racing.

I think people will buy S1/S2 (not upgrade) not because they are tired of being crashed, but now beccaue they are tired of blackwood.
Well I've played for 2 years (not joking) and I've seen the changes through the years, well, not as many as for people like JTbo, who played since 2003. Certainly Blackwood made for a boring experience but, if you played it well and raced online , it won't be anywhere near boredom... It's astonishing! Btw I swear when I grow up and I worked I'll sign up for a credit card so I can buy a new gaming computer and, certainly, LFS S2/S3/S4...

Trust me on this, the day you`ll upgrade you will be overhelmed by how many cars and track configs there actually are in the game now I think a lot of people forgetting the big contest in LFS.

That tells a lot about LFS. That people actually seems to be satisfied with a demo, I canot remember a game where people sais things like that.
I was surprised, I made an XRG drift set just to see what the demo ppl were complaining about and I got hooked and drove it for three hours! It was actually really fun and challenging to try and keep up with XRT.
See, it is possible
You will not miss the XRT ^_^
