Quote from SamH :The problem with that is that when some modder creates a Brands Hatch or a Nurburgring

take them a hell of a lot of time like on GT4

it would be great if lfs could get a few more licensing agreements, might have to give the track programmer a holiday after the nurburgring
Maybe it makes me weird, but I'd rather see tracks made from reworking RL environments, like South City (which I'm sure I found on a map a couple of months back). Take an area of a city, block off a couple of crossroads to create a circuit and there you go. You can probably get telemetry and GPS data online. If all the info is public it probably doesn't need a license.

Even outside cities, there are plenty of roads which would make decent race tracks. The other advantage of this is that it'd let the people who want to see what they can do on a specific road try it in LFS without risking anyone's life

Quote from shorty943 :A retired real life racer, been stuck in demo mode with no internet connection (Installed the game from a magazine CD) for years.

Have you downloaded the latest version (S2 v0.5X) of the game or are you still using the magazine one? The master server moved a few patches back, so old versions won't unlock any more.
Vane.

Your signature has to be stopped. Stop friggin bellowing at everybody.
I'm down under, and haven't played in a looong time. For a few reasons...

One being the age old new content blah blah.

Another being that there are(were?) no good aussie servers to just jump on and race. Yes there were all the Aus league and team servers but these were passworded the majority of the time. And I personally do not want to join a league, rather be able to jump on a server and have a friendly race with familiar faces every now and then.
I'm in the same boat, only just reinstalled after quite a long hiatus. Main reasons are as Woz stated:
1) no new content (enter patch Y)
2) not enough racers online in my timezone

Point 2) also means I have next to no options on which server I join. It's extremely rare to get a server with the options I want, I always have to just race whatever cars the other 2 aussies are racing at the time Either that or I join an EU server and lag everyone out. Actually most of the time I just create my own server and poke a mate to join me. Sometimes someone else will join. Sometimes.

Of course Point 2) is a direct result of Point 1! I can only PRAY that SCAVIER don't plan on tackling S3 all by themselves. Scawen said himself in a recent post that things are taking longer to develop now because basically the bar has been raised. They really need a larger team if they expect this sim to develop quick enough to stay popular.

I'll finish by saying thanks for Patch Y, I love the FBM. When S2 is finished it'll be a great achievement indeed.

Head on over to www.arse.org.au which is where most aussie racers hang out. It won't help the general problem of lack of racers but if you see a private server with people in it the password is in the LFS section unless it's a league race.
Most of us aussie regulars stick to the passworded servers as racing often gets spoiled by inexperienced euro drivers who're lagging a lot.
I agree with the OP I have been saying it for the last 9 months that something needs to change otherwise its all gana crash
