Logitech G9
I recently bought a Logitech G5 to replace my horrible MS Wireless laser mouse 6000. However, after a short time using it I was getting nasty pain in my wrist. I believe it is because the design of the mouse forces you to rest your 4th (ring) finger on the top of the mouse along side the right mouse button. I have never had a mouse designed that way before. My Little and Ring finger-tips are always touching the mouse pad with all other mice I have had (mostly MS)

So anyway, I have sent the G5 mouse back from whence it came and I am thinking about replacing it with a Logitech G9. From the screen shots it looks as though your hand rests on it in the way I am most used to, with my little and ring finger-tips touching the mouse pad. Can any G9 owners confirm this for me please?
Woah - none of my fingers touch the pad - they all rest on the mouse (either on the top, or on the side).
Its probably just my arseways method of explaining things . I guess when I say "they touch the pad" I mean they rest along the right hand side of the mouse.

If you have a G9 Tristan, would you mind taking a picture of your hand resting on it?

My MX518 does exactly what you describe, the pinky lies on the mouse pad and so does almost an inch of my palm.
I still use my 4 year old MX500 and its the best mouse I've ever owned. It fits my hand perfectly.

Since we're all explaining it, I tend to have the non-thumb side of my palm on the desk (I don't use a pad), my pinky on the desk, and my ring finger along the side of the mouse, resting on top of my pinky.
Yeah thats the way I like. Wonder why they made the G5 so friggin' uncomfortable.

Well, looks like we don't have any G9 users on here.
i think i have the weirdest way of holding the mouse ever

I put my hand at the back and center of the mouse pad and put it in a "spider" kind of shape, then just extend my fingers as i move the mouse without my actual hand moving at all

p.s logitech VX revolution user here

aka claw grip ... perfectly normal and if you ask me the only way to use a mouse (although you need a properly high dpi mouse to make it work)

speaking of which why does almost everyone including seasoned fps players and pc users use only 2 fingers for the 3 buttons on the top of the mouse ? i just dont get it

im guilty of that

I just prefer it as everytime i try using 3 fingers, it does'nt feel right. Just having the 2 on top makes my hand feel more relaxed

oh and its good to see theres another "claw grip" mouse user
