Well timing is a big part of it, but keeping the wheelspin is another big factor. I know its hard to keep wheelspin undercontrol when using a keyboard, but just try your best to do so. When launching, you want a little spin so you can get off the line fast, but not alot so your just spinning your wheels on the spot.

My advice is to just goto single player, and practice launches.

I always went down the "Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Redline, Green Light...Drop the Clutch" and I got a good enough get away.

Its only been since the release of the FBM I have been re-thinking my starts.

oh btw, dont forget to make sure you have a decent setup.
