In the room next to me, something is making me nervous. I can sense it is waiting for me, and I am waiting for it. It's 12 days until I will use it...

That's right, I have a DPF for Christmas!
I was wondering if there was anything I can do to prepare for when I actually get the wheel, so I don't have to spend valuable gaming time setting it up once I get it out of the box. I've downloaded Profiler but I don't know if there's anything else I should be doing.

Also, what do DFP owners do with all those buttons? Could anyone who can be bothered tell me how they have their buttons set up, so I could see what I should be doing with it?

12 days is a long time to be excited and there is really nothing more to do.

As for all the buttons you can use a script to make them do whatever you want http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=10956 I use the buttons and pad to go through the F9 - F12 and edit settings during a race.

i thought exactly the same and now pretty much all of them are used ^^

so here my button settings to give you some ideas:

dpad + the triangle button i'm using for a modified version of vain's script in the scripts database thread

- X O and the square pitlimiter/horn/handbrake.
- L2/R2 look left and right
- L3/R3 one is TC i think and the other was "reset" back then, never really use those
- select/start in use by a script to change from gear stick shifting to paddles

Now I know what I'll be doing for 12 days... working out how scripts work! It's opened up a whole part of LFS I didn't even know existed.

HA i got the better wheel but i am not spoilt one of my mates got a ps3, xbox 360, wii and a quad bike!!
