And what slows the tyres down?

With the clutch pressed, there CAN BE NO ENGINE BRAKING

ALWAYS brake first, and when you need to start changing gear THEN press the clutch. You just don't know what you're talking about, do you? And I've seen you in the drifting thread - reinforcing a stereotype anyone?
yer i know u to but i dont take an attatude like that to anyone

ok ill explaine again lol

this is how I (as in myself and how our team drives in game or on road)

driving towards the corner
1) Clutch in
2) Brake
3)throttle blip
4) Gear change
5) clutch out
Throttle round corner

i would personly only brake b4 clutch in a FWD car
http://www.modernracer.com/tips/leftfootbraking.html check these guys out there good !!

and dude im not gonna get into a nouther 3 day debate with this oh yer and you can "drift race" lol
take it easy
Then may I suggest you change your technique - you will become quicker, safer and more consistent. Heel&Toe applies to FWD, RWD and 4WD, as does left foot braking. You NEVER need to clutch in before braking. Ever.

The modern racer tip is a bit crap - they suggest heel&toeing, then changing to left foot braking IN the braking zone - which means for some period of time you'll be changing feet on the pedals, which will not make you quicker.

I'm not after a three day debate - I just want to point out to you that your understanding of vehicle dynamics is seriously flawed...
ok name a server and ill meet ya there im intrester in your techniqe but i think if you see mine you may adapt as may i

I'm at work, so no meeting on servers for me...

My technique is that used by any decent driver. I see no reason why I would want to use yours (or even adapt part of it), as you can't explain WHY you press the clutch first.

Read a motor racing book (specifically driving techniques).
Im no expert on any of this, but, do you really need to use the clutch?

What i do is:

1. Brake
2. Put in neutral
3. Blip
4. Put in gear
5. Accelerate through the corner

IRL, this would probably wear out the clutch and wouls probably have to be much more precise too.
i push the clutch to change gear

i c your point now as ive just gone round blackwood a few times i use both methods lol

depending on speed comming up to corner i do sometimes brake before i clutch

but i spoze were missing and going off the point

See in that video how he brakes first. At which corners do you brake AFTER pressing the clutch? Can you post a replay? Can you explain why you do it?

He's English, and therefore is incapable of using his language with any ability.
:ices_rofl

Sory to be a pain, but would the way I do it work IRL?

I forgot to mention that I use left foot braking with no clutch.
IRL it'd be a bit hard on the dogs and your clutch. But it theory it would work (if your blip matched the shaft speeds accurately). But at least your braking first.

To press the clutch in first means either you a) are braking too late b) not accelerating for quite as long as you could or c) not braking as hard as you could
I really want to heel and toe, but i find it way too hard with G25. I seem to be underbraking, then my wheels lock up and i plough into the wall/grass/whatever
