Mouse/KB: Y-Patch Manual sequential shifting
Since the new patch, I haven't been able to pop out the gear to the "underscored" neutral anymore. I assume this is for the paddle shifting (in the wheel control settings) for the G25 and for when your in the car's that don't need the clutch when in manual with no clutch help.

My question is, could we change the settings on mouse/kb controls for when you have manual clutch with no clutch help to get it out of gear without a clutch. Or an extra setting for when you have no clutch help you could have the option to pop it out of gear without the clutch? Currently there is no possible way for us to pull it out of gear anymore without using full clutch. Even still we can't get it into that "neutral deadzone".

This would be a much appreciated option to add into the game again. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you know what I'm talking about I'd like to hear what you also think.

I attached a picture of what it used to look like

ttt..
I wonder why demo users that whine about the Demo not having the XRT gets more consideration then this
Most games let you bind a key for neutral, I've never looked in LFS before but I'm suprised it doesn't have it also.
Well I dont really need a neutral key.. Instead of a N showing it was the "_" underscore meaning it was out of gear in neutral.. Then once you pushed in the clutch it would go in.

Plus I dont think you can bind anything like that under the mouse/kb settings. I'd like to give it a try if it enabled this again.

I think it lost some realism for the mouse/kb users, because you can not get it out of gear without using the clutch.

I dont know whats the problem, cause shifting fo N works flawlessly for me (just gotta click fast if you dont wanna over rev the engine)

What type of controller do you use?

(I dont think you understand what I ment by this post)
Okay before.. You were able to pop the car out of gear without using the clutch (Mouse/KB sequential shift settings manual with no shift help).

Once in the neutral state "_", as soon as you pushed the clutch it would auto'ly go into gear.

I see why they changed that process to help the wheel's realism in sequential mode (with the car's that dont need the clutch to change gears).

But I think in the sequential mode for the mouse/kb users to keep the realisim (with no clutch help) you should be able to pop it out of gear (without a clutch) to that "_" neutral state, then press the cluch and be able to shift up again into the next gear.

It's just 20x easier to downshift to get out of the gear without using the clutch..

In a real car if you need to push the clutch completely before you even start to pull the car out of 1st gear into 2nd, say good-bye to any kind of drag time (ALOT OF LOSS IN gearing's MOMENTUM, AND THE OVERALL INERTIA OF THE CAR)
I mean come on.. who in they're car in real life completely presses in clutch in, even before you think about touching the shifter to take it out of gear to downshift???????

I push it out of gear (without the clutch), then press the clutch and contiune to push it into the next gear to downshift.. same with upshifting.

IRL thats hard on the clutch to upshift like that.. Ruins the gearing momentum
Whats with the triple post? And why dont you go buy a wheel? :S
I just don't understand why you are using manual clutch in the first place? Manual clutch with now manually blipping needs some pretty amazing finger acrobatics with keyboard and mouse.

Keep wanting to add another point.. Too poor to buy a wheel (bills to pay), plus my desktop broke on me, so I'm down to a laptop (witch works alright), and I like using the Mouse

I do like how it shifts Alot better, no more flat shifting.. just thing one part they took away trying to develop the wheel's paddle better.

I use my mouse scroller to up and down shift (up for down, and down for up), then just C for clutch.. It works out very well and is very easily laid out.

I've used a DFP for awhile, I wasn't crazy for it and I had alot of time to tune it in. I might get a G25 down the road.

I've been conscientiously blipping the throttle well before X patch

It actually was more of a benefit for the mouse breaking into turns.

no problem at all here - always used manual clutch without auto blipping or cutting....
I think he's trying to say that IRL you can pull out of gear to neutral without using clutch at all, but it's no the case in LFS

It was though! look at the original screen shot I posted, It was where you were able to pull it out of gear (without a clutch) and it put it in a deadzone "_"(underscore) neutral for sequential shifter users.

I love how the new Y patch feels though. I like how it shifts besides this minor thing not looked at because they were changing wheel settings
you meant patch Y (sorry for nitpicking )
Imo, we shouldn't worry about that now. I the future, when Scawen will work on new engine modeling, I'm sure gearbox and clutch will have to be overhauled too and everything will be fixed

I'm still in the X30's testing phase in my mind

Yes, I can deal with it. I just hope a dev's takes it into consideration, I couldn't put my finger exactly on what was taken out and why it was added like that during testing (for wheels).

So on that day I feel like playing LFS on my laptop, and my desktop has the G25 all hooked up I wont have to be as irritated and still enjoy this sim
Is it that you lose all that time? I use mouse/keyboard and I just do it normally: accelerator off, gear shift and accelerator on.

It's not the time that I'm I was worried about.. I know clearly, I've left off the throttle pushed in the clutch well enough to get it out of gear and it wont come out alot of times. I know my petal is in well enough just from the petal displays..
