Quote from dj-fluxsa :to tell the truth ive been off-roadin with my dad for 10 years and u rarely hit someting hard enught to need that level of protection it just adds way to much weight. ya a blower would be sweet love to see it in action.

He said he does rock crawling with it and added it for protection but the body is made out of fiber glass, still has the same body shape just got a fiber glass body shell made what can be lifted off in one, just bolted on, so the protection doesn't really put much weight on the stock weight.

My new car, testing it around at Knockhill just to feel the acceleration and power.

I'm jealous too!! I wanna have a go too, but not so much in a Ferrari, anything fast will do. And Ferrari's look great and all, but when they pass they sound HORRIBLE! They sound like tin cans, really bugs me
Small german to have fun

Big american for long distances

I have a crappy car (well it's not that bad, but still), and I don't really have the money to buy a new one. It's just getting slowly eaten by the rust.

Ford Escort LX 1994
2 Door Hatchback - Black
1.9L Engine - 5spd manual
Now over 278500 km ! woot !

Bought it cheap though, a year and a half ago, so it's doing good. It also had the original Ford tuner (RADIO ONLY) in there when I got it: HAD to take it out... Replaced it with a nice Sony one. And fun stuff is that it has a few cool things for a cheap old car... Electric mirrors, interior spotlights (like in voyager busses), sideways openable rear windows (minivan-style), big trunk, etc. +Very clean interior. Aweful headlights though.

(last pic = my car sometime last winter, basically a collage of where the car is under that snow)

I have a Citroen Saxo 1.1 .NO vts or VTR :ashamed:,but maybe one Time
Please tell me the Saxo in your avatar is not your car.
Fail?
Germans are pretty good at tuning, they make awesome cars... Well, at least most of them.

I saw a car for sale the other day, completely tricked out wide body kit, complete custom interior, special paint, ... the works... He said nothing about the engine, I wonder why...
If you want to make a car look fast, make it fast first. And what would be even better: get a fast car, make it even faster, and then make it look slow... The grin on your face will be a lot bigger after smoking some kid in dad's BMW, than looking at the grin of grandma smoking you in her new Yaris Diesel.
I like the 'look like shit, go like stink' approach.

Saw that line on the front of an old drag racing magazine years ago. The cover car was what looked like a clapped out Capri, but all the engine, running gear and everything else was changed for better stuff as it was a road legal drag car. Similar to Andy Frost's Vauxhall Victor, just without the nice paintjob and a little less power.

My mate had a Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia EFi, and that was pretty damn quick for a standard 1.6. Had a fair few races with bigger cars, top speed wasn't great but round corners it was fairly good. No supercar but bloody good fun.
@Beefyman: I dream about my own car, prepped for racing. Well, I have a diesel, so it should be the petrol version. But those old Fiesta's (with the rounded headlights) look like crap really, they're quite slow and there never was a racing version.
In the Dutch Fiesta club there is someone who has built in the 1.7 engine from a Puma in his Fiesta... That must be awesome, and the company Pumaspeed in the UK, can rebuild the fiesta with the engine from the new fiesta ST... Must be awesome! Costs more than the car itself, but definitely worth it I guess.
Mk1/2 Fiesta FTW I'm afraid. I dont like newer shaped cars at all really. The old XR2's with RS Turbo lumps were mental, they even made the Fiesta RS Turbo as standard, which was a Mk4 (I think, someone can correct me if I'm wrong).

My Mum has a new shape (dunno what Mk it is) 1.5TDCi which is pretty rapid for a diesel.

After the turbo'd fiesta MK3's there never was a turbo'd fiesta again, until the recent diesel ones. Oh yea, the MK5 diesel had a turbo too, I'd even love to have one of those, anything goes better than my 1.8 diesel nothing
And to have you picture which one is which: after the MK2 there was another cube, with the rectangular lights. Then the new design came along with half rounded headlights (MK4), the MK5 then had the same butt with a redesigned bumper and complete new front end. Then the MK6 came with the long vertical taillights, the MK6.5 is the one with the weird bump in the headlights.
And I think your mom probably has a 1.6 or a 1.4, I don't think there is a 1.5. You say it's pretty rapid, so I guess it's the 1.6.
I thought it was a 1.5. Whatever it is, it's got pretty good acceleration and the TDCi is a pretty good engine.

And yeah you are right, it was the Mk3 that they had the RS Turbo.

The first car I drove was a 850cc Mk1 Fiesta, and that was the first and only car I managed to roll aswell. It was all on our own farmland (back when I lived on a farm) so it was all hunky dorey.
