Quote from EmmyLou :I agree with you on that one He's too old to understand the music of this generation

I like Muse along with Paramore, Madina Lake, My Chemical Romance, Nightwish, HIM, Lostprophets, 30 Seconds To Mars, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Guns n Roses, Westlife, Take That, Evanescence, Good Charlotte, Fightstar, Red Hot Chillis, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, Led Zep... Quite a selection there

(I'm just glad he dosen't read my kerrang mag...he'd ban me from reading it if he read teh Christmas message from Ville Valo (HIM frontman)

... When did you get into my house and hack my iTunes library... :hide:

That sounds very similar to what I have in my iTunes, minus the needed 1000 U2 songs, and a tossload of Justin Timberlake songs and missing a needed band : DragonForce
At the moment I'm hooked on Dead Star... Great band, but their earlier stuff was better than what they're doing now.
I don't generally listen new rock music but Muse is especially one that I can't stand. I don't what it is, I guess mostly voice of the singer. Sounds like someone was torturing a cat.
Muse rock.

I admit I hated them for years. Like Deggis I hated the singing, but after hearing Muse a lot at friends places it eventually started to click with me and i started to listen to them a lot more at home.

Eventually i bought all their albums and they have become one of my favourite bands of all time.

They really come into their own live though, one of the finest bands ever to climb on to a stage.
muse's pretty cool but mars volta actually rocks! kinda like teh datsuns(they rock more)
If you like Muse, you might want to check out a Finnish band called Magenta Skycode. Great band.
Quote from GFresh :I like Muse, but i prefer Wolfmother

I also enjoy re-living 1977

Go to the source, man. Load up on early Black Sabbath and Deep Purple and you'll realise why Wolfmother are the ultimate recyclers Listen to whatever you like though, but don't let yourself be fooled that they're bringing anything new to the table
Eh, they might not bring much new, but the do a pretty damn good impression.

Nice to have some new Sabbath/Zeppelin(/White Stripes, I guess) songs once in a while. :P

RELIVE the 70's?? Jeez man, I never left them!!!!

/me votes for a time lock on the 70's so it can be the 70's for ever!

The fact that Wolfmother (along with every other new band out there) borrows from older stuff is no secret. I'm thoroughly convinced the Beatles did/wrote everything there was to be written, and the secret to success these days is touching on older music that people identify with. Everyone does it, sometimes you just have to listen a little harder.

And yes, Muse is great. Muse is everything I ever wanted from Radiohead. The guy even sounds just like Thom Yorke. That being said, Radiohead's latest could be their best album since Kid A....
Quote from Mikkel Petersen :Muse bla bla bla emo music bla bla bla.

And no, dude, Muse is not Emo... If they were my hair would be all sad looking and I'd be wearing my little sister's pants....

It seems all music with some emotional meaning to it is called emo these days Does all music have to be about partying, shaking your butt, moving your body and waving your hands in the air like you just don't care?
I like Muse, and I don't see the point in labeling music anyway
imo of course
Quote from joen : I don't see the point in labeling music anyway

Well said.
To me a great song is something that raises emotions.. if its only irritation.. thats not good.. to me... muse is a nogo..
but then again im an old school trash metallist
For me its the same with Muse and Tool:
I don't like them if Winamp is on random and skips to their songs between like Foo Fighters and QUOTSA. But listening to their albums only is quite enjoyable
