I've never seen TrackIr in action, so maybe this is only another way of achieving the same thing:

The cool thing is that it's an open source project, and if I understood it well, you don't need a Wii, only the Wiimote and IR sensor. (~50€)
Just imagine this plus a three display rig
I don't have the time to take a look to the project right now but I wonder if it could be used as an input for the viewpoint in LFS.
