Stuck in Pit (Patch Y)
With the Formula BMW FB02 car on Blackwood with major damage to the clutch I pitted with the damage display (F10) showing the clutch damage. When the pitting process started the damage display went away. After the pit was done, F10's and F9's display would not display again. F11 and F12 worked fine and the car would not move.
Best advice with a case like this (goes for everyone reading the forums)
Go into single player, make sure an SPR is being recorded, and try it again, and save the replay, and then post it up here so we can figure out what went wrong.
The clutch doesn't get repairs. Maybe that's the reason why you could not leave. Damage display comes back when you start moving out of the pit (nothing new, it was that way before Y)
Maybe I did damage the clutch so bad it could not move. Haha. Can it really get that bad? If it happens again, I can record an SPR then.
Yes it can if clutch bar at end car wont move

You don't damage your clutch, you heat it
Could I have waited a bit for the clutch to cool and then move?
If that is what your issue was (most likely), then yes you would have been able to move a little later.

But why does the clutch get overheated so quickly? When I drive the BMW it only last for a couple of laps...
Which BMW?

Neither should overheat at all, because it has an automatic clutch, all you have to do for the FBM is release the gas, shift, put the gas back on, and for the BF1 you don't have to do anything, you shouldn't have any heating issues with the BMW clutches.

The only cars you should have issues with are the H shift cars, FZGTR, XFR, UFR, and lower end cars, because there you actually have to use the clutch.
As stated by the first post, I have gotten the BMW FB02 car's clutch to overheat. It is possible. I have since learned how to drive it without overheating the clutch though. It just takes more practice for people with a manual analog clutch.
Nono lol, i was responding to tomse's question

Ya, I know, but you were saying that players "shouldn't have any heating issues with the BMW clutches."

Well you shouldn't...

Unless you try to do it...
Well I did have issues with the BMW FB02 car, when I was quickly H-shifting, but that was because I was giving gas too soon after I changed gears. I adjusted my timing of clutch and gas and it does not happen anymore. I tried the same "bad" quick technique on a real car and I smelled clutch soon after, so this shows that this game is realistic. Wow, I am now a better real driver too. I only have problems when I try to shift fast, with normal driving and normal shifting on roads (in real life), I have no problems.
Um...the FBM doesn't have H-shifting, and it will shift clutchless (just let go the throttle)
I was using an H-Shifter at the time for the road cars. I did not know that it could shift without the clutch. I guess it has a sequential gearbox. I dislike having to switch my controls back and forth between the road cars and the Formula cars.
If you use a G25, make a script. I didn't bother, I've no problem pressing Shift - G twice...
What does Shift-G do? I have a Momo Racing Wheel with Act Labs Pedals with Clutch and H-Shifter.
Shift + G changes gear shift type between Shifter -- Sequential -- Auto...I just use press it and then the sequential paddles are enabled on my G25...although they are enabled by default when I get into a sequential car...
Cool, I will have to try it out then. Thanks.
