Its probably roasting inside the aircon unit, it blows cold air out but the units can get quite warm inside!

Stuff the air con unit with a mixture of C-4, gunpowder and Quality English Cheddar Cheese.

No need to get rid of the mouse since it will aready be dead

fill the aircon unit with expanding foam, it might not be much use afterwards but it'll stop making the noise and you wont have to rebuild your house!

We had once mouse behind electric board (thing that has all fuses) and it was several days of weird noises, then nothing, after few weeks fuse did blew and awful smell came, poor creature had found himself trapped and decided to make suicide by biting electric cables before starving to death.

I wonder how the mouse got in there in the first place. Although maybe it's a huge spider.
Reminds me of this: one time in bed, I heard a weird cracking noise above my head. There was a plastic bag between the wall and the bed, and I looked. I thought it would be a mouse because the sound was so loud. But when I looked there was this big black spider trying to crawl up the bag... It took me about an hour to kill it eventually. I'm scared of spiders
