Software for Designing and Graphics etc..
Hello, I'm just wondering what software do you use to make skins, and also just amazing designs for you team/website or eeven just for fun. Just if you can mention any, free or not free from £25 to £500 just any or even if you don't have it but you have heard that it is good then that would also be great.

Thanks in adavnce

Gimp or Gimp shop would be nice choice for those that don't prefer wearing eye patch and wooden leg
Aaargh Paintshop Pro 11

Funny part is, I've been using it since 10 but it just lets me update
Photoshop.

Been using it for quite a few years now and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Others to look for Gimp and Paint Shop Pro (as mentioned above), Paint.net.

They're the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, theres quite a few out there though.
Ok thanks guys.

John
Lol, mighty clever of you to mention John, especcially on a public forum.
Good move LOL! Just say you purchased it. And for the record, Limewire sucks.
och it will be fine...lol

I think the makers of those programs know bloody good there are cracks everywhere. These programs are way too expensive, and if you look at the number of people that "own" it... If someone thinks they all bought it, get real

Still, piracy is a crime, it does not matter if software is like LFS or Photoshop, crime is very same.

Sure some programs are not the cheapest, but for example 3ds max is possible to get, just takes bit more time to get one.
Oh well, I don't encourage cracking or whatever, best to buy it
And I think there are just a few people out there, who are really into computer programs and gaming, that never used a crack or no-cd or something.
No-CD .exe's are legal. You're really only supposed to them if you own the original product. But really who's to say you do or don't own something.
To be honest guys i hardly know anything about computing, programming all that kinda stuff. I bought LFS proud of it, i mean come on, about 1/10 people have got something for free from a friend/crack/keygen that kinda stuff. There is not one thing on my computer that i havent bought. I just well want something decent to do designing on until i get a job etc...

I know... Honestly, I bought every single game, the cd's just broke so I got a no-cd...

If you don't want to crack, just get gimp, never did the job for me, because I already knew paintshop, but most seem pretty positive about it.

Not necessarily. For some software, it is a crime to "reverse-engineer" it.

Ok something like 8/9 times out of 10 programs.
  • You are LEGALLY ALLOWED to make a personal backup of an Original Game CD/DVD as long as you are the owner of the Original Game CD/DVD.
  • You are NOT ALLOWED to sell, rent or give away any backups of copyrighted Games CD/DVD's, as this is not allowed by Copyright Laws.
  • You MUST DESTROY any backups when you don't legally own the Original Game CD/DVD anymore (e.g. selling or giving it away)
  • Before making a backup, check in the supplied manual or on the back of the CD/DVD, if there are special conditions or provisions for making a personal backup.

Has such claims in an EULA really been proven to be enforceable in court?

Any internet/torrent tough guys wanna battle Adobe at court?
I think I read somewhere that Adobe/Autodesk don't particularly care if Photoshop or 3DS is pirated by students or amateurs because in the future, those students will be working for companies who have legally purchased the software. Also, the fact these kids have learnt Photoshop means it will stay ubiquitous in the professional sector. Now, companies using pirated software is a different thing and is regularly cracked down on AFAIK.

Would be very logical, however it still is crime, of course one can argue if crime in some cases is really a bad thing, but crime it is anyway

Paint (not that MS version)

If you're serious about investing money you might want to take a look at Xara. IMO it's to vector art programs (though it isn't really confined to only vector) what LFS is to racing sims, sort of.
ok thanks for that guys much appreciated...!
/me uses Paint.Net
