Probably been asked for/mentioned many times on RSC... but wanted to just mention it on the official forum.
Dynamic reflections on the cars and tracks would be a huge improvement.
"reflection" on the track would just consist of a shader to reflect sun glare of course.
================================
While the above may be harder to implement.. (DX8/9 shaders) there is another graphic improvement that I think would be much easier to implement:
As an option- a "blob" shadow under the car in addition to the moving directional shadow.. The blob shadow would be darker than the shadows from track-side objects.. As it is, when the car goes behind a shadow of a track-side object, the shadow disappears completely and the car seems to "float" on the track until it gets into some sunlight again..
If there was always a blob shadow as well as the directional shadow, it would make the cars seem more realistically rendered when going from sun to shade..
An example of this being well done is in Richard Burns Rally...
I know graphic updates are not high on the list of improvements, but these ideas would make huge improvements in the way LFS looks- and maybe even add to the immersion, especially the reflections..
