I agree, it should be offered only to licensed S2 players.

I vote to make a new tweak thread, saying that LFS tweak will be released as soon its approved by the mods, if none make the requirements too bad,make it stick, lock it, and kill any one who makes a new tweak thread.

I honestly think this is a good ideia. Sure as heck would make the forum a lot better.

I voted for licensed users only. Of course. Tweaking is just so much fun, it would be shame to not have it in latest versions. Right now I'm having two copys of LFS, V and Y, Y for mp and V for tweaking. If I could tweak Y too, it would be great! It would be very good idea to have a special forum section, where only licensed players can enter and there we could DL LFSTweak from there, so some other people like crackers etc. wouldn't get it so easily. And I think a "private" forum section could maybe be very usable in other things too. I know it can be easily done, like in the finnish car club I am, Cosworth & RS Club, almost the whole forum is hided if you are not paying member.

It wouldn't really matter because a s2 licensed guy would still just upload it somewhere where everybody could download it.

The point is that only licensed drivers are allowed to get that. And expecially crackers, it would be a lot harder to get the tweak if they can't download it.

And if it would get uploaded to somewhere like rapidshare, it's not so easy to non licensed people find it if they don't get the link. And you can always make a rar pack with long password. With these things together, it wouldn't be that likely to leak to demoers and crackers.

And oh, if using tweak causes problems in hotlaps section, it can't be that hard to build a system what checks if there's something weard on physics or whatever, before uploading the hotlap.

I say don't release it at all right now, not until there is someway for it to know when the user is in hot-lapping mode OR even online modes as this could cause cheating and other issues that I do not wish to put up with. I enjoy the clean and honest racing and I hope it stays this way... Until there is a way to detect modes that should be unsupported, AND that Tweak (or a program like it) obeys those rules then, and only then, should it be allowed to those users who have bought a license. I do not see any reason why demo'ers should get more content, even if its just editing an existing car.

and yes i think it should be released becuz lfs needs this to keep us interested even more than we already are. i think its fun makin high horsepower cars and driving them as you would in real life.

Seems to be alot of posts here still whining about not having tweak... so to keep occupied till' tweak comes out start a poll?

I said in another thread that if you want to modify the values of a game, you can do ANYTHING to Racer, its free, and you dont have to bother people about making a program for you to access the content of the vehicles.

Just a thought for the people that "just can't wait".


But really, once the "issues" with hotlapping and liscense content are sorted, let the S2 users get their hands on it and make it a perk for the demo players to buy S2 for access to the 3rd party programs.

How about this idea.

How about a "sandbox mode" inside LFS, where you can create tweaked cars and stuff, and maybe race online, but playing in "sandbox mode" does not track any records, so they don't show up in LFSW. This feature, of coure, would only be available for licensed LFS.
