Amazon Delivery times
Well I just ordered my G25 off amazon!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
:razz:banana::davosmili:laola::balloons::bitehard::bounce8:

Sorry for smily spam

Anyway... I'm wondering why the delivery estimate says 2 - 3 weeks even when I've selected first class postage???

Why is this sooo long?
Because it's big?
Hmmm... yes... good answer

Never rely on delivery times, i've given up trying to be in when they deliver something, i just get the "sorry we missed you" card and go pick it up from the depot myself! saves all the hassle.
I'm expecting my washing machine tomorrow between 10:00 and 14:00, i'm not going to be in i've got work! but i'll pick it up at my convenience instead of theirs!
How much does the G25 weigh roughly - all packaged up?
Quote from Royal Mail, on their website :
First Class - Quick and easy to use - Delivered in 1 - 2 days

Hmm....

AFAIK, it weighs about 10 kg when all packaged up.

EDIT: A google search search confirmed this. Specific weight is 9.57kg.

Well suprisingly when I ordered my Creative Zen Vision M Mp3 player from Amazon it arrived quicker than I expected.

If I calculated this correctly, sending a G25 with first class should cost £30.50 lol

Amazon only charged me £1.67
have never liked amazon myself..

If they mess u about.. tell them to shove it and get it 10 quid cheaper here.. and delivery has always been spot on

+1. Thats where i got my G25. Delivery was superb. It arrived within a couple of days (three to be exact) and when the reverse gone on my shifter, they picked up the broken one (with the wheel and pedals too), and gave me a complete replacement (everything!) within a week! 10/10 imo.
I got Toca race driver 3 last year in 5 days :/
Must be a special UK thing.

In Germany Amazon delivery times are usually great (for me).

The last time I ordered some DVDs with normal postage (no special expensive fast delivery) it was like this: Ordered it ~15:20 on Wednesday - and got the package the next day at 11:00 o'clock.
And the other stuff takes usually only 2 days for me.
I get stuff from Amazon damn near next day every time, even when I don't select next day.
Hmm... that's weird. I ordered my Momo on friday night (this summer) and got it delivered on Monday morning, using free shipping. There must be some kid of rush.
Maybe they just overestimate delivery times so that they don't get people moaning if they're a bit slow.

Bingo.

It's purely so they're covering their backside when the busy seasons kick off.
I was a bit nervous ordering stuff from amazon before christmas, but was pleasantly suprised. Ordered some bits, delivered 3 days later, with the free delivery.

OT, suprised to see the G25 price has actually gone up slightly from its release, remeber paying £140 pre-order inc delivery.

Me too, and once when I ordered next day delivery (£9) and Royal Mail failed to bother to turn up with it, Amazon refunded me the postage cost the same day.

Personally I have nothing but praise for Amazon
If you go to the product page at amazon.co.uk, you can see that the product SHIPS in 2-3 weeks. Delivery itself will probably only take 1-2 days.

The problem is that they don't have it in stock at the moment and have to special order it or wait for a new shipment to come in.
Never had a problem with deliveries from Amazon. I don't bother with next day or first class as it always arrives within two days anyway.
Coincidentally I also bought a G25 today. My first port of call to look for it was Amazon (I've bought a few things from them lately and they've reliably been delivered on time at competitive rates). I saw they had a 2-3 week delivery time for the G25, but this isn't due to the weight (it's probably more due to stock), since I bought a 15 kilo monitor from them the other day and got next day delivery on it. I ended up ordering my G25 from dabs, but I sadly missed the cut off for next day delivery, so I'll be getting it on Friday. If I were you I'd cancel the Amazon order and get it from dabs instead. If you order it before ~3pm tomorrow and pay the extra few quid for postage you'll get it on Friday.
