I was reading in a hungarian gamer website(Gamestar) that the guinness records book is coming for games,they said thing gonna be in it like:a player in how many minutes did a track,How many game products sold a company etc.. LFS defenetly should be in it as the best car simulation game EVER made

Any1 heard of this?

What a silly thing to make. Guiness records for games?
Reading that would be a waste of good time.

Well, in the real world I imagine it could win, "Best simulator without a major developing team." It may also win "Only recent racing sim NOT based off ISI physics engine."

I bet this book will be full of crap games, and two good pages with decent games that people have actually heard of.

It really don't understand the desire to try and turn games into something that are taken really seriously in the real world with money behind them. That's the complete opposite of what I want

I don't think you can put subjective things like this in a record book. The records have to be measurable.

sounds cool.. but i think its a waste of time... maybe GuinnesRecords should make a section of Games....

Well, surely if Games were included, because each 'game' is technically a different 'world' that would mean you would need EVERY game in the known world, IN this book, and Just think of all LFS's world records(and how much they change) and then just think about other games, with MORE tracks, and MORE cars. It just sounds alittle too 'sympathetic' of them to want support gaming like that. I guess they will have something to do with Clanbase and/or ESL?

This book is coming out, due next month... Basically includes different games on each page, with records such as, fastest time to complete a game, most people online on a game or most successful game mod etc... The only relevant Guinness is brewed and bottled(!) in Dublin.
The book is a total waste of time, I did read it alot as a kid but realised its better to spend that time learning something useful instead of a new way to define a record.
Facts are useless unless they give insight.
