Quote from Intrepid :What is cost for entry into a normal car race and how many laps do you get? For example at club level entry for a practise day in karting is about £35 (6-7 10 minutes sessions), and race day is about £40-45 (3-4 10-12 laps races). running costs for a weekend at bandit level is around £250 with a kart worth around £1000. How does that compare to the racing you are suggesting is cheaper than karting?

Depending on the club it's typically around £200 for a 15 minute practice and 15 minute race. Realistically if you genuinely spend £250 a weekend it's probably a bit cheaper than most club racing but there are other forum members who say they spend that much on tires a weekend. Don't forget Becky wanted £20000 to do a 24 hour ProKart race and considered that a normal amount to spend on a few bits of steel box section and a couple of glorified lawn mower engines. Given what other members have said about 2 stroke club racing it seems that spending 10 times the amount you suggested isn't uncommon. Did you take into account tires, engines and routine lifed components in that cost?

£20,000 was what she was quoted for a season I believe, and as much as I like the CTRA and Becky but that estimate seems a over the top, or she was spending more than she had to. You can do a TKM Super 1 season including some club racing for 10-15k at a decent level.

ON a club level however, my quote included tyres and fuel... on a bandit budget yes, but I have seen it done and I have seen people get good results too so it's not some made up figure.

Tyres = £100
Entry - £80
Fuel - £20
Spares and bits and bobs - £50

Of course it's gonna be one tight weekend but it can be done. of course there are other seasonal things you have to consider but overall I can't see how it is possible to do as many laps as you do in kart any cheaper at club level in cars... if you can brilliant... but £200 for 15 minute practise and 15 minute race wo!
My friends dad is a self made businessman, he owned a Ferrari at one point, now he just drives an X-type Jag and has a garage full of motorbikes. Including an early model Hayabusa...you know the ones without a limiter?

My other friend who I aint seen since college also has a self made businessman for a father, he makes around £250,000 a year.

Anyway I actually watched this program last night, a thought that crossed my mind...why did he choose to do this program instead of doing some winter testing which he will probably need? Looking at him he is quite unfit, and likes to have a few drinks too, a bit arrogant too but he is a racing driver. I heard that he was going to try and jump straight into F3, so why is he stuck in a house drinking with a bunch of wierdo's and a guy that looks a bit like 'fat bastard' from Austin Powers.

Just FYI, any Hayabusa, and any bike that has the "gentlemans agreement" 186mph limiter (not really much of a limiter is it ) can be unlimited pretty easily

I know, I just think its cool that his one came without a limiter as standard. The funny story is that while at school my mate said 'my dad has a Ferrari' and we were like...dude no way does your dad have a Ferrari. So then we found out he lived a few streets from me and we passed his house every day. Next day he takes us to see the car, and all we saw was this small crappy garage, didn't even look big enough to fit a car in. Then we walk through the door and see a perfect Ferrari 355 just sitting there looking amazing. I nearly creamed myself.

Anyway, I don't like that Jeremy dude, but I dislike his little circus friend even more.
