Apart from the fact that Live (Liv) makes perfect sense whilst Live (Lyv) is total nonsense. That is why your language skills were questioned - yours wasn't a reasonable question. It can't be either.

Legend! I nearly spat my cuppa soup out when I saw that!

it could be that the game is live(online) for(the purpouse of) speed.
Which is a daft name, and still doesn't make sense without your brackets.

Once there was this guy who wrote an operating system called Linux. He lived in Scandinavia and insisted that it should be pronounced "Lyne-Ux". He's wrong. I'm British and I pronounce Linux as it's spelt, if he wanted it said another way he should have spelt it another way!

And Scawen pronounces his own name wrong! It's not spelt Skorwhen is it!?
Didn't Scawen say Live for Speed in the patch Y vid?

Maybe not - I'm not sure.

@Becky - Welcome back - havn't seen you in aaages!

ROFL!! Made me laugh! thumbs up

I could picture it on fonejacker though.

Scawen: Hello?
Fonejacker: Uh hello, i would like to purchase a lurfs licence.
Scawen: A what?
Fonejacker: A lurfs licence...
Scawen: Oh a LFS licence?
Fonejacker: Yes! a lurfs licence.
Scawen: Its LFS. L-F-S.
Fonejacker: Yes...lurfs.
Scawen: *hangs up*

Do people really call Linux "Lin Ux" rather than "Lyne Ux"? The latter just sounds so much better and nicer. If only the OS was as appealing to me...
For those who still don't understand :

It's supposed to be pronounced the same way as in the sentence "I live for speed". 'Live' is not pronounced as in "Live on Eurosport".

I gather you are an avid Xbox online player, because I can't think of any other peer that would connect "live" (as in XBox Live) with "online"... JJust remember: LfS was here before the XBox, and it will still be here when the XBox is forgotten

And concerning the Linux (leenooks) debate: the original inventor's name is Linus Torvalds, who is a fin, and the name of the OS just a play on words with it's base Unix. And you don't spell it Unyxe, do you?
And tristan, Linux comes in so many different flavours that there is ought to be a version you would find appealing. The trouble is finding it ^^
Yeah...

Ideal operating system - tiny hard drive footprint. Tiny memory footprint. Installs easily, and is easy to maintain, with drivers for everything I own common and easy installed. It would be fully compatible with Windows, in terms of networking, games, hardware, software, plug and play etc. In short it would be a streamlined, non-bloated, fast and widely compatible operating system.

I don't think one exists. And if it did, we'd all be using it. So I stick with Windows (even though I despise aspects of it) because it means I can do everything, with any bit of PC hardware and software, and I don't need to teach anyone else how to use it either.

Whilst Windows sucks big time, it has huge and rather foreboding things FOR it which I (and most computer users) cannot ignore.
^i hear about xbox live a lot it's the NW of the US it's where microsoft is based in, and i have a lot of reletives that work at the microsoft HQ.

but no, i don't play xbox live, i don't even have an xbox, the closest thing is an xbox 360 controller i bought for lfs. it's the best controller(not wheel or anything else) for racing games since there are 4 analog controls, i use the right analog stick(usually used for views) for clutch.

You nailed the reasons why I still use XP as my main plattform, but still, Linux isn't too bad from a work PC perspective. Not that I am a pro user, but with a nice GUI, it isn't too different to use than your standard Win desktop.

I think those two are more or less mutually exclusive these days. To be compatible with everything you'd need so many layers of APIs and crud that you wouldn't be able to turn around.
