68mph flat out, projected 0-60 time of 27 seconds. Possibly a little slow for my liking. With twice the power it would be much more tempting. But then it would drink that tiny 15 liter tank in no time at all.
For a country that's developing as fast as India which is going to see millions and millions of new cars coming onto the road as people find jobs with wages that can support a new car it's great that they have something small and efficient and aren't forced to drive about in 30 year old smoke-belching castoffs from the west like a lot of countries in the same situation.

I definitely think it's A Good Thing.
Trust me TATAs are CRAP my dad once bought one (and (tried) to sell it straight away). You cannot sell them. He had a 7 seater TATA Safari (It was awful) and the rear seats in the back didnt even have seatbelts lol

Trust me, dont buy one, they may be cheap but

1)You cant sell them
2)You WILL die if you crash

But yes it is an ok car if you dont have much money
Quote from beefyman666 :This Tata thing looks like it will be as much use as the G-Wiz... only it has a petrol engine.

Because it has an internal combustion engine, legally it is a car. I.E. it has to pass a crash test.
As the G-Wiz runs on a battery, it is a "quadricycle" - so it does not have to pass crash tests.

Still you have to chuckle at it, especially the way it smashed into that table.

The Tata, like the Smart car may be small and cheap (Smart expensive for what it is) but it just doesn't hit the right buttons.

Kudos for them looking into the people who can't afford a decent new car, but then you could get something used, for cheaper which would be a lot better in so many ways.

Then again I reckon it will be a big loss to Tata, they don't make much anyway as they make crap vehicles.
For some reason i swear I have seen this body somewere else.

Oh yea, all microcars look and almost are the same. I think we need one that looks different.
When will we see first Hayabusa swaps for this "car"?
100,000 rupees! I could get a horse, a cart, & still have enough change to feed my family for a year. We fear change.
They would have to pay me that money to even have a ride in the passenger's seat of that... um that... hideous "thing".
Can I tow a caravan with it?

And I thought the name 'nano' is owned by Apple..... or did they forget to copyright it?
i would never buy that

"43 mph"

not even 100 kmh

LOL, a 50cc twist 'n grovel is faster than that! How pissed off would you be getting overtaken by a moped?

Well the British Government want to change some laws so it has to pass crash tests to be road legal. But eco-hippies are up in arms about it.

So anyone have any pictures of Tatas? Thx.

How can they copyright a word that is actually used as a term for measurement? Something I think says they can't.
lol, this might be the worst "car" but wouldn't beat the Gwiz if it was counted as a car.
and if you wanted a simple rr car to drift in, get a smart brabus roadster
I don't know... I could probably use one of these for taking kids to daycare. I always hate to walk 2km when it's raining. I could use this for a quick run to the local store to get smokes, beer and a bag of chips (the usual movienight eats and drinks).
It may be as crap as the GWiz, but at least this one got an engine that runs on petrol.
^good thing they didn't put a diesel engine in there. and i would rather get the peel p50 then that, at least the peel is fun, and you can drive it into buildings, like jeremy clarkson did.

They are planning a diesel engine at a later date. It is all in the new report.

It says 68 on everything i've seen.

Nano (and iPod) is owned by Apple, but only for the MP3 Player market irrc.

As my Dad can attest (as he's thinking of buying one), while they are much nicer, they're also a hell of a lot more money.

Quote from Jakg :It says 68 on everything i've seen.

I think he got confused as it says 0-43mph under acceleration, rather than 0-60 (which it will do but the figure gets quite large).
