faster111, you need to get a sound editing program that can import/export .RAW audio files.

All the horn files are located in the \LFS\data\snd folder as:

HORN1.raw
HORN2.raw
HORN3.raw
HORN4.raw
HORN5.raw

You can replace the sounds there, but you need something that can handle RAW sound files. I can't recommend any, so search for some online at Download.com or something.

i got the file ready just need to know what to do next (some times i can spell good other times i can't)

Ummm.... put the file in your snd folder, and in the game (on track) press SHIFT + H to change the horn type. Keep pressing it until you hear yours.

If you made the RAW sound file correctly, you should hear it.

And my guess would be using this in multiplayer would be useless as everyone else would just hear the "stock" horn sounds.

it didint work but everyone els who has the file saying its working for them but i put it in snd?

hit shift-H until you got that horn's number?

the file name is HORN5.raw so why it not working?

dunno, where did you get the horn from/ where can we download to see if it even does work, it may not be the right file type or may just be corrupt

I'm having problems with that too. When I look in my lfs sound folder, all the files, including the horns are in .wav format, not .raw

Any clues please?

The horn files used to be .raw files, but since Patch V you have to use .wav files. So no need to convert them anymore.

I get a problem with edited sounds. When starting LFS, it says the sample rate is not supported. Ive tried like 5 different sample rates and I dunno what is supported!

I usually find 44100 Hz works fine, saving it as a signed 16 bit mono .wav.

Hughie. If you really can`t get your sounds to work then post them here if they`re not too big, or PM me if you don`t want them public and I`ll help you get them fixed.
