Need help..... Dell Inspiron 1525 with LFS
Hello all....

I need help! I am thinking of buying a dell laptop, and the one I have my eye on is the inspiron 1525. LFS is the only game i play, I mainly need this laptop for school etc. My main concern is the intel media accelerator graphics, although it is the X3100 version which sounds better than the 900, lol.

Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.00GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache
Windows Vista Home Premium
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
160GB Hard Drive
Intergrated Intel Graphic Media Accelerator X3100

I know it is not ideal, but would this run LFS? What sort of frame rates would I be getting?

Thanks
I'm using a Tablet PC with almost identical specs, and if I recall correctly, it ran LFS just fine. I don't remember whether or not I had to turn the settings down a bit, but I do recall it running smoothly at decent quality at the least.

Whats your budget? If i was buying a laptop atm i'd get this one. With an 8400GS it comes to just under £400, however thats with a 1.4 GHz CPU (but a Core 2, so more than enough), a 1 year warranty and a 120 GB HDD. Does get the 9-cell upgrade, though (my GF's laptop has the same battery and in Power Saving mode it'll go for 4 hours under very light use!).

Make sure you go to real checkout to see the true price (theres a £20.00 off voucher included in the link).

Discussion of this laptop (and deal)
.
Well, I was quite keen on getting the 2.00GHz Core 2 Duo to be honest. My budget is about £600
The following is nearly the exact Laptop I bought (I bought it from a small computer business, so it was slightly different). It's under your budget, has 2gb ram and some good graphics capabilties for a laptop.

It's pretty much the same as yours but has better graphics, although I'm not sure if decent graphics warrants an extra £200...
