Your answer was correct for a petrol engine, in as much as when you press the pedal you open an air valve to allow the engine more air.
With a diesel you open the fuel valve to give the engine more fuel.

Obviously both have a similar effect = more power.

"fuel air mixture" + more air = more "fuel air mixture"
"fuel air mixture" + more fuel = more "fuel air mixture"

right?

Yeah yeah I know,

Just pointing out that there is a difference - to those that don't know how the two motors work.

A petrol engine is fed more air and it meters the fuel to make the correct mixture whereas -
A diesel is fed more fuel and it meters the air to make the correct mixture.

But of course we all knew that did'nt we?

It's not that it was a stupid question (There are none except if you are trying to troll). The reason I gave really simplified answer was that if I would have answered using physical phenomenons, differential mathematics, integration and all that how I can prove how throttle works, it would be so complex answer that no-one benefits from it.

After all, we don't know why he asked that question. Maybe because he doesn't know what word "throttle" means...

Thats an actual answer, not "bah you don't know anything", like the other posts. People need to be more helpful some times.

Most of the problems with burning the clutch is caused by auto clutch, not the simulated clutch.

Thank you.

I guess I was bing sarcastic with that question but there is a ratio that needs to be kept in order for the fuel to burn.

If you add more air you need more fuel, intern, if you add more fuel you need more air.

Edit: I didn't read far enough. polyracer got it.
