Are the SO_Sprint courses neccesary for the Single Seater 1 server?
These are great little bull-rings undoubtedly, but I have to wonder if they are good for entry-level SS racing.

1) They are extremely hard to pass cleanly, moreso for newer drivers.
2) They have no workable pits, so the inevitable damage is uncorrectable.
3) Being so short in length, the amount of lapping of backmarkers just is a breeding ground for disaster every race.

Just interested to hear what you guys think. And I'm tired of getting my %of races finished knocked down by this track, and my % of yellow flags getting bumped up by these tracks.

Thanks,
Stu

Personally the first time I raced on one of these tracks it found it "meh....". But after driving a few races there you get a different mindset, and it is like an adrenaline rush now  partly because of the points you listed.

1. Passing is harder, takes tactic and strategy to do it cleanly. I myself like to make drivers in front of me nervous by filling up their mirrors to induce a mistake. Drawback is, I get nervous after I passed them and they are in my mirrors. Something to work on

2. I like that, one big mistake and you're out. Takes "driving on the limit" to another level. You can try to find the limit, go a bit over it, but blatantly going over it has a harsh punishment.

3. You can learn how to make damn clear that you want to overtake. Offcourse there are always drivers that are not forthcoming enough. That is something you have to live with.

What works best for me on these tracks is patience and being aware of the drivers at the start. Sometimes it is better to fall back a little and let those drivers who at all cost have to be no.1 in front and relax a bit. Soon you'll see them going into spectator mode since they pushed too much
Its just I'm wondering if that's necessary for the "entry" level SS racers.

Typically the newer people in the FBM don't quite know what is going on around them as well, which in the SO_sprint courses just makes for bad racing, imo.

I agree with all of your points, I just think they are more applicable to the higher level racers
for me they do not fit to any of the single-seater servers at all....
I think they are awesome with experienced racers.

It can get a bit out of hand with noobs though, your right there.

Though i don't like them in anything but the FOX and FBM, so if you put them on SS2 your in the mix with the FO8, which is too big for those tracks imho.
OT:
I'm really starting to get afraid, going "Who did that ugly render", then realizing... it was I...
To be honest, I quite like the racing on the South City Sprint courses. It can get mildly annoying not to have pits, but hey, that's the price you pay for making a mistake. After the first five laps or so, anyone who can't cope will have destroyed both of their cars, and so without pits, they're out of your way.

As for the yellow flag ratio, I find these tracks help quite a bit - particularly Sprint 2. Doing a lap in less than forty seconds makes it far, far easier to rack up a high number of laps for each yellow flag caused, and the yellow flags are only thrown if you get to a really low speed too. If you have two crashes in a ten-minute, 17-lap race on Sprint 2, which sounds reasonable if you're with sensible enough people and not going mental, that's a yellow flag ratio of just under 12%. Well, that's an improvement for me

This is probably something I shouldn't quote anyone on, but if a second SS1 server - National B and above using FBMs - ever comes into play, then I do think SO Sprints should be taken out of the entry server, but for now SS1 is the only playing field we have with only small, nimble single-seaters to enjoy these tracks.
