Wheel setup - steering proportions
hi, im finding it difficult to control the car as even 1mm turn on the wheel is all you need for like a 90 degree turn. well not literally but you can understand the problem. ive fiddled about with the steering compensation and degree's but its not helping.

basically what i want is to change it so that when i turn the steering wheel, the wheel in the car turns less than it does now. if that makes sense.

thanks,
Are you sure you've calibrated your wheel correctly? Sometimes LFS resets the calibration and you have to turn your wheel full left and right to get it back to proper steering levels.

If you're sure everything is calibrated correctly, setting up a high wheel turn compensation will mean the car won't steer as much/quickly in the centre turning range, giving you a higher precision at the cost of precision loss in the outer turning ranges. Alternatively you can also try to reduce the amount of steer lock in the setup.

right, sorry, ive changed the degrees for 240 which is what my wheel has. but for some reason it took effect this time. the last time i tried it it didnt do anything.

the problem i have now is the deadzone. my wheel has been abused in its lifetime, by my dad and his mates mostely. i will try the compensation again. thanks for the reply

its good now. last problem, i cant seem to find the drivers for this wheel. so i have to combine the throttle and brake as one. which you can understand is annoying. so anybody got drivers for a sidewinder without FF. im in the process of getting a new wheel though.

There aren't any working drivers for XP/vista for the Non FF Sidewinder afaik.
This is exactly my problem and wheel.

Thanks for posting.

There are no new drivers for these wheels. Vista and XP have them in as default.

you need these drivers http://rapidshare.com/files/3040815/MS_SW.zip.html

the only problem now is that they seperate the pedals, and you can see they are on axis in the sidewinder properties menu. but on LFS it treats the brake pedal as on/off for some reason.
cool thanks
