I got 2ndhand wheel and plugged it... no errors, no ms game software and i actualy miss FF only (everything else works)
but in lfs i get an error: >DI: Setproperty : DIPROB_AUTOCENTER unknown error < what can i do? it looks like an lfs problem because in another game (flatout2) FF works properly

what will i have to do?(please help me:weeping

so.. i think i found the problem!
i used an asrock mainboard with onboard gameport.
when i go to lfs world or start winamp(listen to music) while i am playing the error doesnt occur. so i suggest its a driver problem.
tomorrow i`ll try another board and a soundcard
maybe that solves the problem, so that the cheap gameport ffb wheels can be bought

I wanna buy an as above mentioned Microsoft Sidewinder FFB GAMEPORT wheel, and I would use it on win 98 if:
-The LFS will work PERFECTLY on that O.S.
-The Wheel will work perfectly (normal ffb, so separating the pedals is doable, I can use the buttons...)
-The LFS upgrades and etc. will be working on win 98

??? Is that TRUE ??? or on 98! with the ms sw FFB old driver won't be working perfectly? PLZ HELP, email me or just share your answers in this topic

MS FF gameport has proper driver for w98, no worries, it will work (problems are with w2k and xp)
im not sure about LFS upgrades

a MS FF also works on windows xp with the default drivers that are within the OS, but i don know if buying a 8 year old wheel is such a good idea...

For me it's a good idea, 'cause this wheel is f***in' cheap (10€). So will The FFb and the pedal seperation be workin' completely on win98?

not quite true (if Ur talking about gameport version)

it depends on hardware, with some motherboards it works, with some (newer i guess) there are FFB problems
i had to buy USB version after PC upgrade, was ^@$! tired of reinitializing controls thousand times

Well, last time I checked it still worked fine on my pc + sb live which provides a gameport.

the error stayd and first i could use FFB while listening to music (winamp) so i could use ffb but if i start the game or leave it with Windows-logo button i have to reset it again

now on y22 the error sounds different but when i click at /on the the button below the activate FFB (is anything with zone) often, ffb works after the 5 to 20th click!
dunno why i just excite FFB

edit: sound card didnt solve the problem! there it was the same and with a different mainboard too!

2nd edit:my car has a 12 year old wheel and it always worked well, best ffb ever experienced
