LFS Forum Problem
Hi there I have the problem that I cannot use any of the TEXT FEATURES like changing the text size or adding smileys... and if i press my ENTER-button it shows that the "curser" jumps into the next line, but when I submit the new thread, everything is written in one line. Another thing is that I cannot upload/attach Files I don't know what to do... http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n17/TFalke55/Bild3.jpg that image shows how I'd wrote this thread orriginally cheers Zz0
Now that is interesting...

I don't have any problems with line breaks
Tried disabling all of your plugins/addons yet? Maybe one of them is messing with the input fields. Or could it be your privacy respectively security settings? Or a very weird and overprotective anti virus software?
it's getting weired... i tested on other forums but there was no problem now... i wanted to quick reply, but even that does not work...
Yes, weird. I've no idea. When i look at the raw post, it's exactly the same. No linebreaks whatsoever.
Also notice the " being converted to " there in your post.
til now nothing changed, but I noticed something.... when I want to edit one of my previous post, some kind of code appearce... i think it is some kind of HTML stuff... e.g. the place where i have inserted the screenshot begins with something like
< img src = "http://www.lfsforum.net/" border="0" alt="" /> instead of [IMG]

For some reason it automaticly adds the whole part behind the IMG SRC thingy and before the vBulletin IMG-thingy | my antivir shows no reports, exept that it things something is wrong with some LFS data thingy, but there is no problem with it | with the PlugIns I tried it as well | I tried it with an other browser... IE only causes trouble... so I tried it with AOL, I only use for my eMails, there it works with the line breaks, but it is an unconfortable browser... maybe it helps... I'm using firefox and my provider is Alice DSL... I downloaded a couple of days ago a new ICQ version, but it worked well 'til today - I tried it with a reboot, but it didn't work as well... something new is, that the review of the past posts, disappeared as well...
can you try turning that off and then make a multi-line post here?
I turned it of and if this is not shown in a line it was the solution

EDIT:
sry
it
didn't
save
it

WORKS AGAIN!!!!

thx...

but why did it change to that mode? I havn't been to the option for years (or at least months)
thanks for that test. I had a text-input debugger on it which showed that indeed this is what you posted :

Quote :I turned it of
and
if
this
is
not
shown
in
a
line
it
was
the
solution

but it didn't show .... hmmmm very strange. Will have to look further.
ah so it does work now?

Mmm I don't know why it was on that option. As far as I know, it's off by default.
so... thank you... that i can write
in
different lines again

but at least the attatchment button, and the quick post button don't work... I changed now to basic edidting, wich means that the text formatting buttons appeard again but I can't use them, as if the whole smiley and formating box is just an picture...

for today I gotta get some sleep for school...

thx for everything on this (after CET) beautiful Monday
Using the wysiwyg editor when I have JS disabled does this to me.
hm how exactly does " show up on your screen ? i suppose you dont see it as & quot ;
at least the linebreaks might be some freak issue with how ff deals with input on your copy since those qoutation marks definitely arent processed the way they should be ... in how its influenced by the wysiwyg i really havent got the slightest idea

does ff come with some built in html codepage conversion ? or maybe the wysiwyg editor ?
doe </p> works in the wysiwyg editor to create linebreaks ?
hmm... I don't know where the problem was... It is now completely solved... Everything works again since I have started my PC today...

Thank you for your help!
(althogh it is still a mystic question where the problem came from...)

Thx!!!
There was a wysiwyg bug in vB. They have just released a patch, which is now applied here, so everything should be ok again now, no matter what editor you use.
im having this problem but with lowercase letters and that stuff

that's no bug - you just can't make posts with only capitals.
Is that a feature to stop angry shouty posts or is it because CAPS is just plain annoying?
Both. Though as a side effect, it doesn't allow you to reply with a single ":D", because the uppercase D will be converted to a lowercase one before any emoticon codes are parsed. Now, there is of course little use in replying with just a smiley, but the ":D" is unfairly discriminated, so I'm protesting out of principle
