I HATE HATE HATE people who park over the white line.
So today is Saturday here on campus, which means EVERYONE is trying to find a place to park, which in turn means waiting for people to walk out into the parking lot and following them to their car. ESPECIALLY when there aren't enough spots to go around, it makes me mad when people have the nerve to park their giant pickups crooked - and one foot over the line. No-one else wanted the spot, so I took out my anger by calmly backing in (a bit of a squeeze,) straightening out and then (still staying completely between the white lines) nudging my bumper INTO his wheel well and turning my wheel so that the tire sits 2 mm away from his rims (which are concave - so it's like putting your hand into a bowl.) I took his license number and left a nice little note on the windshield saying "Learn to park ". I kind of hope that he assumes I didn't write down his plate and rips off my bumper when he leaves, cause my bumper is all dented on the other side and I could use a new one.

Either way, I feel much better knowing I made his life miserable - because pulling out is going to be all but physically IMPOSSIBLE for him without his getting the university cops to look up my plates and get my to come down and move it - which will me satisfactory enough for me

Bah, he just runs over your car or calls to his friend with some heavy machinery that can make your car look like pancake

Yes, I hate people that can't manage to park into square, one idiot scratched my bumper while I was watching and she just drove away, well, took plate up and called her, she had to pay it even she bring whole family with her and no matter what they did yell.
how is it even possible to park a car on the lines in a us parking lot where each parking space is big enough to fit a whole european parking lot in?

Must be because they give licensed to blinds too, just like in Sweden (old Swedish gentlemen got his license renewed even he is so blind that he needed assistant to place where he got new license, luckily he promise that he is not driving anymore)
What's even more upsetting is when you park as perfectly as physically possible, then you get a fender bender.

This happened to me. I parked literally in the MIDDLE of the parking spot at a mall, and when I got back I saw my rear fender was bent in and all scratched. I was pissed off, especially after parking so nicely. There are some real jackasses out there, and no matter how hard you work to do something right, they'll just come in and screw you over.

Well, I went back to look. No damage, but the sidewalk had wet grass tread marks and there were tread marks a good 10 feet into the grass lol. There was also a bit of scuffing on the edge of my tire - which could be bad if it gripped enough to pull the wheel out of alignment - but all in all - I'm satisfied
Often when my brother and i go to swim team practice we have a couple people like this. Especially on those really crowded days. Not only do they park over the line, but they often jet out into a handicap space. Sure the spots are big, but everyone insists on crossing the line in a dodge hemi 4x4 with huge offroading tyres and suspension that makes the car ten feet tall. Or they NEED to have an Escalade despite the fact that when we see them walk out of the building and drive away, they are the only person in the car.

edit: next time i'll have my brother park next to the person so they can't get out.

We have separate parking lots for big rigs, only those would be enough big for those big american trucks.

Nothing wrong with big 4x4s really, I love them, parking in here would be just bit of problem.

Our standard square is 2.5m x 5m, but quite often they are bit narrower (2.2-2.0m).
It is quite impossible to get out comfortably from any modern 3dr car, also for example Dodge RAM 2500 is longer than our squares, but still many of cars are not so much wider than RAM, popular small family cars are around 1.8m wide when RAM is 2m wide.

Still it is rather possible to park between lines, even car would be bigger than square it is possible to fit pretty close middle of square.

I would love to see squares made enough wide that even two wide cars parked to squares next to each other could have both doors fully open, that is how wide those should be, but it would be ok that even one door could be fully opened inside square.

Last time I found parking space limited I parked front of main door, nobody did not complain to me at least
Someone who can't park in a big ass truck is one thing, what pisses me off is Little Big Car drivers.

Little Big Cars are little cars that are driven by people who think they are bigger than what they really are, so need miles of space, as these 'tards will straddle the white line in parking spaces for their shopping trolleys.

lol, and that would be me.
I parked my Smart right behind a big mercedes, nose first into a wall. When I returned, my rear left bumper/wheel well was broken (its plastic) And right at the spot there was dark blue paint.
One week later, same spot, same dark blue merc. As revenge, I emptied both righhand tires. When I returned, there were a couple of pretty deep ruts in the asphalt right after the sidewalk (we were both on top of a 10cm sidewalk). Revenge, it is sweet, ja?

Also at college - There was one dude that ALWAYS parked sideways. He got 2 A4 papers on the front and rear window saying "I always park sideways - I'm a moron" - THAT one never again parked like that.

And the best thing about a Smart Fortwo? when someone parks on the white line, hes not occupying 2 places, hes CREATING 2 more - for Smarts. I gotta post a pic from my phone of a small peugeot 106 positively surrounded by Smarts
Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Then I now hate you until you learn how to drive.

Well, once I'm going faster then 10mph then I'm fine!

What I find funny is when the parking lot gets a covering of snow.. how the shoppers *try* to park their cars where they *think* the lines are, to the best of their recollection from the last time they were shopping there. What a mess they make!

Just last week actually, I went to the local bookstore and yet another pickup was parked a foot over the line, blocking the last spot between the curb, so I squeezed in and squeezed out. I was walking back out to my car and was unknowingly behind the three teens who were going back to it. I heard them talking, "@#$% dude, how are you gonna get out. Look at this jerk - he's right up against your truck." That's when I hit the unlock and the car chirped - they were like WTF. I just walked right by them, got into my car and started it. I was just gonna leave, but one of them was standing in front of me waiting for me to back out, and he just kind of like gave a little shove-gesture - like a hurry the #$%^ up and back out. So I just sat there with the engine running. I eventually backed out - but like - they have no choice but to act tough when they are confronted - cause there's no other option than to admit that you're an idiot. I honestly think you should have three chances, and then you get your license revoked for that. It would keep it from happening.
hehehe i remember, when i went to a mall a ford lobo was parked over 3-4 places ... and i had to park to the very end of the parking
I'm having real trouble parking lately, intact my overall driving has deteriorated at night and when parking. Mostly its a confidence thing,

I'm still in pain from an accident a few years ago when someone rear ended my car and so I bought a car that's way to big for my own spatial awareness.

What this means is I drive around ignoring spaces that are to small for me, or I just walk in the first place.
Today i had another practice, at 6am, so there were about 5 cars in the lot(lot is big enough for 200 cars). My brother lined it up perfectly when we went in, but when we got back out at 9:30 ther was someone parked terribly right next to us. They needed the spot next to the door. We had to back out the wrong way and drives backwards down a one way lane to get out.

One thing i do love is when the snow plows knock the portable speed bumps out of the way and we can do hotlaps around the building.
