Free DVD players?
What are the best freeware DVD players?

Windows media screws up in full screen and the Power DVD program already on my PC is awful.

i would recommend the mediaplayer classic. it isn't a funky looking thingy, just a plain functional player, which plays almost everything (unless you don't have the right codec)
Maybe not the best free DVD-player, but it is one Smile

I'm a big fan of Zoom Player because of its amazing customizability, but you need the pay version to play DVD's.

Also I think the MPEG-2 codec is at least as important as the player itself. The best are IMO Nvidia Purevideo, which is not free, and DScaler 5 which is free. The main advantage of Purevideo is that it uses the GPU of modern cards to do the decoding which makes decoding of HD MPEG-2 files possible. Samples here:
