My driver settings get reset.
I am driving on the left, use km/h and Bar. I use my FXR Skin as well as my setup. However, everytime I start LFS, those settings get reset to the default settings. So it's set to mp/h, default skin and default setup.
I then need to disconnect from the server, go to my Options and click ok as the settings there are correct. When I now join a server, everything is good again. Thoughts?

Check that the entire LFS directory isn't read only, or specifically that the data/misc/ directory isn't.

I unchecked Read Only. However the problem persists. Today I changed my default language for non-unicode software to Chinese instead of English.
Might this be the problem? I need Chinese for some of my software to work properly, but it would suck if LFS is not using Unicode.

I'd like to try deleting LFS and download a fresh copy. However, I read in LFS.net that I only have 2 unlocks available? So I can only unlock it 2 more times? Is this true? If that is true, it's the biggest shit I have ever seen. You got my money, now you let me unlock it as often as I want.

Yes, your unlocks are limited to prevent license sharing.

However, each Friday you get +1 unlock to a maximum of 2 spare unlocks, so actually you have an unlimited amount of unlocks - they're just slightly time restricted. You would've known that if you had read the license agreement

Ok, it's back again. I reinstalled LFS. Changed all settings. And back we are. Mp/h, right-seated... What's the problem? Do I have to drive like the British now?

So you're sure every file has the write protection removed? What OS are you running LFS on? If it's Vista, maybe the access rights aren't properly set, so LFS can only read but not write the files it needs to write.

Do u close LFS with alt-F4?

Because if I remember right the game doesnt save any changes u made during the last session if u close it by using alt-F4.

Using WinXP SP2 English with non-Unicode software automatically using Chinese.
Read-Only protection has been removed, no change. I am closing the game with ESC and pressing the Exit button, bottom left corner of the screen. I'd guess that the issue is about non-Unicode software using Chinese.

Though I know Scawen is at the moment working on implementing two-byte character support for the Asian languages, so that might fix things for you. He said he wants to release this compatible patch ASAP, so you probably wouldn't even have to wait too long.

Other than that, have you tried switching to English, making your changes and then going back to Chinese?

While they usually are nice about stuff like that, I wouldn't advertise it too much. I'm sure they'd prefer if you just waited if you run out. There wouldn't be much point in this scheme if all you had to do was email them to get more unlocks.
