I have an idea...

Lets (on Race 2) give the LRF's the same amount of pts as a GTR would get in Race 3, and the tbo's either the GT2 or normal TBO pts?

Just spitballing ideas. (and because I like the LX6, it'd make my quest to Platinum a tossload easier)

I agree dustin.

I think that race 2 and race 3 servers SHOULD have the same points available, therefore then it's a straight forward choice whether people wanna have benig close races in the TBO's or the GTR's.

It would be a nice simple way of sorting it out .......... maybe
As long as you give me more points for doing less work, I'm happy.

I've had a fiddle with the points. Because there are so many factors involved in the points calculations, it can be a bit like practicing voodoo. I just don't have a big enough brain to get all of the algorythm in my head at once.

I've, hopefully, made the GTRs a little less generous for points and the LRF/TBO a little more so. This should, hopefully, make the TBO/LRF more appealing for those wishing to earn points. The rewards (hopefully) are there now.

god dammit - that means it will take me longer to get to titanium... Sam, I take it all back, the old points system was fantastic
Dru, then you'd be pissed off at me for reporting a ton of code bugs

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Sam, now it takes ages to get a Titanium license. .

hehe! You'll feel like you've earned it when you get there!
Quote from SamH :Well actually, you GAVE him the wrong end of the stick. And you contradicted yourself again. In the same paragraph, you say that anyone can express their opinion and the very next thing you say is that they can't express their opinion about someone else's opinion. It's both or it's neither, but it can't be one and not the other. It's neither here nor there, but I'm a stickler for logic and reasoning

I noticed your a bit of a stickler, so its looks like i'm going to have to set you straight, again .
Moose was not expressing his opinion about my opinion he was telling me that my opinion was irrelevant. I believe they call that making a statement. Either way it was a mis communication, he appologised, life goes on. Also you say it's neither here nor there, when in fact it is almost certainly here.

& your other point about perception:
Everyones perception of others is different you cannot hold a person responsible for their views of others as they are completely individual to that person. (a mis understanding is a mis understanding). What if someone was spreading false information about you, would you be held responsible for their actions as well?

p.s. - ok it was his opinion about my opinion but he retracted it so it doesn't count. also this fast going way off topic & is a bit silly.

lol - was about to post something regarding.... 6 days have passed and the thread has completely moved on but all sorted by the power of the wink way to go Hoppo!!!

hehe!

Actually, it's been bugging me for the last few days.. I want to drag Kev into the UF-BR, and SHOW him how useful this car is, in helping people to learn about racing.

This car really helps up-coming drivers learn about apexes and exit speeds. You absolutely cannot win, in this car, without really good lines and using the car's momentum to your advantage.

You learn a lot about suspension setup, particularly toe and camber because the engine restriction is so significant and the tyres are so sticky, the changes in setup are a lot more profound AND obvious than in, IMO, any other car setup in LFS.

Relatively low speeds and sticky tyres really does provide for nose-to-tail and door-to-door driving. Despite the restriction, the car motors quite happily. You get a really solid opportunity to practice switch-backs and braking zone overtaking. An opportunity to practice this stuff, that happens once or twice in any other server, can happen in the UF-BR from the beginning of the race right to the line.

So it's under-powered and over-rubbered, but it is a Bronze server after all. It's an absolutely invaluable step along the road to anyone's racing "eduxperience", IMO.
totally! Good description

When are you guys on? I am sad to say that at 10pm in California, this server is a ghost town. I just got my bronze and want to get schooled!

We're mostly in Europe, though not everyone. 10pm PST isn't really peak for anything on LFS

get up early and race before work/school/college
or do a Dustin, sleep in the afternoon+evening and be awake all night + school.
#95 - SamH
yeah.. except you're never awake at school, Dustin!
I don't need to be anymore. The classes I have I can actually sleep in, and then one of them I get to come home early becuase there is no class on tuesdays for it.
plz make the ufbr copper free, id really like to drive it
I absolutely love the uf-br server, today I've had a couple of very good races, with wheel to wheel action nearly all the time!
I think this has teached/is teaching a lot of stuff that will be useful in the decent-powered GT2 class, which I'm really looking forward to.

But you're right, the server is never really full, 5 racers if we're really lucky, so I'm doing most of my points alone, which is somehow missing the point.

It is allready copper free
