Hi lfs.net.

My server uses atleast 50KB/s at all times, even when nobody is on it.
Sometimes it peaks at 7xx KB/s which makes me and my users timeout.

I checked it, and it's LFS.exe using all of it, it's a few ip's (nearly always the same) and a random port number.

Any idea what could be causing this, or how to fix it?

I've found that occasionally people will send absolute rubbish at LFS servers, and generate a shit load of traffic. I've not yet analysed any of this traffic due to time and lack of interest. The only solution is to firewall them off manually, and to possibly change the port LFS runs on.

I did put a suggestion in the server suggestions thread for a better log file output, so that it can be watched by an IDS to prevent this.

There really is no limit to some peoples stupidity.
