**INVITE: Submit AutoX layouts for BnJ**
Hi all!

We're looking for new autocross layouts for the Bump n Jump server, our plan being to breathe some life back into that licence. If you have created, or would like to have a go at creating, a layout for Bump n Jump, please post your layout here

Layouts need to be based on the Blackwood car park or AX tracks, thoroughly un-cheatable and sectors must take significantly less than 90 seconds to complete. Consideration of the max number of physics objects is needed etc. The layouts can have crossovers and "risky" areas. All that good stuff.. you guys know the drill by now

The layout name is up to you, but needs to be no more than about 7 letters/numbers because the name of the layout will appear in the CTRA lap record charts

All layouts considered. Thanks!
My track on the above link is still up for review Becky and if it needs editing for CTRA be my guest

Also if this was ongoing it may generate enough interest to keep the server Populated.

I believe most of the original crew that frequented the B and J have left it only to concentrate on the other licences, but now every time I look now at B and J in the hope of getting a quick fix there's no one In there.

It can produce some of the best racing if you can get 8 - 10 racers in there.

Thoroughly agree there celtic, used to be I would join a server with at least 10 or so fellow racers (even with my weird "australian" hours), but now struggle to get 3 or 4, most times its empty. Joining with only one or two to earn one or two points a race, and having to do three or four races to earn just the joining fee back is a bit disconcerting, so sometimes i find myself steering clear when I want to have a bash.

I'll see if I can cook up a layout, never really tried before, might be a bit simplistic, but sometimes they can be the most fun (WobblyOval being a prime example).
Hope im not late or you will still accept it.

Here is my little effort, I would have had it up earlier, but I have had no internet for the last week, it only came up again 10 minutes ago!!

I call it "Shoelace" - no reason why. Its relatively short (sub 60sec laps) but presents some unique challenges and plenty of danger. I hope it gets considered.

Theres always danger on an autox
Any word on whether any submitted layouts have made the CTRA grade for Bump n Jump?
Would be nice to get rid of the oval like layouts. They are boring and usually attract wreckers.

No word yet, I'm afraid.. they're Becky's call, and she's very much wrapped up in something else at the moment. I'm sure she'll reappear in the not-too-distant future
There is a post on our RSC forums which covers what I have been up to for the curious. I must admit i'd forgotten about this, I did have a look at a few and the once with the authors name chalked on the ground i'm affraid I cant accept. Naming the file is enough, without rebranding CTRA in your own name .

I am delivilishly busy for the next week or two.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I (finally) have a layout to submit for B&J. Better late than never I suppose.

This is inspired by the original Daytona Beach course - an oval with tarmac on the front stretch and sand (well, grass in LFS) on the back stretch.

I think it's probably only suited for UF1, XFG or XRG. You'll want to use hybrid tires.

Enjoy!

Hmm, noticed this thread so I made a layout. I don't know what the status of accepting tracks is, but here's mine anyway.

It's a track where you have two choices of where to go where the checkpoints work in both halves of the track. There's probably a lot of things that need to be changed...

I'm thinking that this track is probably more suitable for the slower cars - Not the TBO cars. Probably an XRG would do well.

Our Layout
Hi for all! This is it! Our first Professional Layout is this.

nice turns are made just Barrier Pieces so they are smooth to drive and it doesnt get any bugs on collision. (If you drive smooth =) )

There is one nice ramp and I thinks it would be fun =)...

I haven´t got any photo on that But maybe it is a surprise =)

Cars: RB4, LX4, FX0, XRT and maybe MRT5 ... MRT5 is hard to accross the ramp!

We will do more of these!

See ya
More Layouts from us
Hello its me again... and there is now 2 more tracks for Blackwood Car Park =) ... These are challenging your skills and your setups.

I hope these all 3 tracks (#2,3,4) would be in CTRA Jump&Bump server.

The one good thing is that you can´t cheat your lap record. =) Or I thinks that its not easy... anyway, as I said, we will do more autocross tracks =) It is fun.

Oh and btw. XRG,XRT,RB4,FOX,LX4 cars =)
To Sam:

Any chance of these submitted layouts being used in BnJ? Some of the earlier submissions may need some tweaking due to Patch Y, but is there any hope?

There is! Dustin is our bugfinder/AutoX inspector, but he's doing exams right now. We won't be introducing new pre-Y autoX layouts though, only fully Y-compatible ones. Most of the layouts we have at the moment need fixing but it's a big chunk of time needed to do it. Adding new layouts that also need fixing isn't appealing.
Sam, singular. I have an exam left, this afternoon.

Speaking of which, why am I awake at 5:00 AM, installing Fable?!

Hi there,
I tried your layouts, here are my comments (my opinion only!)
All three versions are interesting in SP but do not allow opportunities for good fights on a B&J full field.

They start well but quickly turn into narrow twisty strips, with moon reaching barriers on both sides... that would probably be chaos with more than 2-3 cars on track!
Tracks that have success on B&J seem (imo) more simple, shorter and much wider than what you show here, allowing passing opportunities at more than 1 place on the track.
Track numbered ...#3 is at the moment the widest / easiest, could be improved to fit (at least) 2 cars at all places except chicanes? that may fit!
Another thing, if other people can do a similar evaluation of the layouts (as above), it makes it a bit easier to figure out which work or not, and then can be added to the X-System easier/efficiently.

No sleep before the exam?
Go to bed and leave this forum until exam is over!
Bah, studying is over-rated, I prefer to LFS my way into exam.
