I have been experimenting with the air intake sound to give an illusion of an external wastegate or screamer on the xrt (or any turbo car). I don't know if this has been tried before and search came up with nothing.

I have no experience with sound files in LFS but I came up with a very basic example of what I mean. I'm not trying to add rice.. blah blah, I just think it adds some spice to the xrt and makes it sound a little more powerful and I find it more enjoyable to drive with this element added to the sound. Please leave comments and feedback or help me out by improving the current sound or by making your own and posting it in this thread

To install: Unzip to the Live For Speed\data\engine folder and in LFS press shift+A and load the soundfile to the air intake sound and turn vol up and muffler down

edited the file to make it flow a little better and it's also quieter

I tried the first version and it wasn't anything worthy, really. I'll try to new version when I get home though, expecting it to be better than this one...

Can we please have a preview?

I do realise the 1st one is gay but I was just tryin to make an example of the idea, I'm hoping someone who has experience with sound files to make a better one... and I don't know how to record a sample sorry

I 100% agree we need a better turbo spool/wastegate sound

If it was to work correctly, the wastegate screamer would only come on more towards the top of the boost range. XRT does about 12psi, the gate would open at about 8-10psi to get the correct effect. All for the idea tho

There is a really nice spool replacement under a thread I started called "Turbo spool sound" I think it was called. If you use it, turn the spool volume down, and also lower the rpm option to i believe 80krpm, I will have to look when I get home.

It sounds pretty nice with the BOV replacement I found as well.
