Continous animation format
I need to create a standalone, or very common, file format continous animation.
I did think .gif, but what I am doing doesnt really lend its self to the .gif format.
So I need to find something that will do what I want, I can output the animation as a series of jpg/tga files, or as a movie file.
I just need to take it from there and have it "play" looping over and over.

Any ideas?.

Dan,
In what application should it be viewable? In a browser the only options are gif or flash, but the latter isn't really placeable like a gif.
Hmmm....I would prefer if it were possible to be a standalone .exe application, failing that I guess everyone has a browser, but like you say the only options is gif or flash.
An AVI file is fine, BUT, the biggest problem with that is it doesnt loop.....

Dan,
you can create standalone apps (.exe) with flash. thats your best bet i'd say
I'll have to look into that then, cheers Niki.

Dan,
no prob, if u have any questions just send me a PM.

Something along the lines of "Can you lend me £500" LOL

Macromedia's (adobe as it is now) version is an arm and a leg, and other more reasonable priced packages that will do the same?

Dan,

On a completely unrelated topic, Usenet subscriptions are pretty cheap.
That is of course very true, but of course you wouldnt be condoning anything even remotely along the lines that my brian is thinking.............

Dan,
just "borrow" it for a while...
or use a local university. anyone could walk into the one i'm in and use the computers....
