im using the universities LAN to connect to the internet and theyve blocked certain ports but i dont know which ones and for what purposes. one of my computer science lecturers is trying to get certain ports unblocked especially those for second life , anyways i am unable to start a online race.

so which ports need unblocking?

Assuming that they have an outgoing firewall (which most unis do):

TCP/29339, or TCP/8080 to master.liveforspeed.net, for talking to the master server

TCP and UDP 63392 are the default listening ports used for LFS servers. However, be aware that LFS gives server admins the abiliity to set any port number to run the server on. This means that even if you get them to unblock those ports as outgoing connections, you can't guarantee that you'll be able to connect to any LFS server.
