Hi all. I've been having dismal issues with bad graphics; http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=30474&page=9 and my conneciton dropping all the time (the two are unrelated). But I couldn't even get into LFS today. I've uploaded two videos to Photobucket,

PC is AMD 3500+, 2Gb RAM, 8800GTS, recently reinstalled WinXP.
Internet is Nildram's up to 8Mb broadband service.

That looks like a connection issue. My server refresh looks like that when I forget to close uTorrent before starting LFS, especially when the total uploads are above 25kbps. Run a web-based line quality test and a speed test.

It could be your ISP, or your modem, or your router if you have one, or your PC itself. If you have spyware/adware/malware those programs could be hogging your connection. How many processes do you have running?

The problem is very unlikely to be LFS itself.

Thanks. I usually do a reboot before going online so there are minimal processes running. I'll look into it more, I suspect my ISP might be the cause but with a non-LLU exchange and no cable I'm restricted in what I can use.

Looks like ISP port throttling. Lots of no replys, but the pings seems to stay low which is odd.

Definitely worth getting in touch with them.

Nildram are now part of the Tiscali shambles, could be related...
