The Open Wheel Racing League continues delivering some of the best open wheel racing in LFS. And given that we received a new car last christmas, this year it should be better than ever. The 2008 calendar includes three longer Div A/B seasons, with Div B altering FBM and FOX, and the second championship in the OWRL F1 series.
Division A/B

The Div A/B league continues to be the main competition for individual drivers. Compared to last year, two main changes in this league:
- Div A/B seasons will have six races per season. Over the course of 2008, we will run three season.
- Div B will also use FBM in some seasons. In the first Div B season (S2 Season 11) will use the Formula BMW, where the next (S2 Season 12) will use the Formula XR. In the third Div A/B season the cars has been tentatively set to alternate after three races.
The number of drivers in Div A and per server in Div B remains at 24. The top 17 div A drivers from S2 Season 10 can stay in Div A together with those that moved up after last season.
As the length of the season has increased, we also want to give the top 3 in Div B the chance to move up after three races in the season. Even though this means that they won't have a chance in both championship, they can get in the Div A within three race and stay there until at least the next season. This is just for the top 3, so if they decide to stay, the next driver will not inherit the choice.
At the end of each season, the top 7 Div B drivers will be promoted to Div A, where the last 7 drivers will have to make room for them.
S2 Season 11 & 12 calendar
OWRL F1

2007 was the inaugural championship in the OWRL F1 series and in 2008 we will held the second one. Similar to 2007, the series can only be entered by teams that enter two drivers per event.
The series will run from April to November including a summer a break. For qualifying at each event, a two-part qualifying might be used where only the top 10 cars qualify for part 2. We will probably test this in a test race before the season starts and then make the final decision on whether we use it for the F1 series.
More details on the calendar and qualification procedure for this years season will be announced later on.
