G25 Slipping Pedals Suggestions?
Hi there, been playing LFS offline for a month or so, but last week moved into a new place.

Sadly it has very very smooth laminate flooring, I find myself under braking moving the pedals which in turn causes me not to brake and off I go.

I have tried mats etc. but I find it still slips, does anyone have any clue of any products that will let me create a very non slip base for the pedals?

The limitations are I cannot use anything that will nail, screw or glue to the floor. So it will have to be a material, like a mat of some sort.

Any help would be amazing, thank you.

Edit : Ah nuts sorry I just posted this in the wrong section, thought I was in the Hardware/Wheel section. Apologies.

How close to a wall are the pedals?

I've read that some people wedge something between the rear of the pedal unit and the wall to prevent movement.

D'oh! That is an excellent suggestion, I was too wrapped up in stopping the pedals from slipping.

The pedals are about 8 inches from the wall, so it is prime for something behidn to stop it slipping! Now to find something that will fit there

Ha, used an old box to wedge the pedals, which works wonderfully

However now when I brake my chair on wheels rolls backwards lol that might be a little more tricky to wedge. I'll have to see if the manufacturer does any normal non wheel castors for the legs.
just detach the wheels and put some felt patches (that you should get in any home improvement market, used for the legs of ordinary chairs) on them so you don#t scratch your floor. Not needed if you have a carpet though.

Sadly this chair is bizarre, without the wheels the central pistol so to speak, the one that controls the height of the chair, extends lower than the feet without castors. So without the wheels at the moment, im sitting on a central cylinder which is not good for the floor and means the chair wobbles around all over the place.

Just did 10 laps on Blackwood just now, and to be honest I think it's fine, it doesn't push the chair back as much as I thought
haha, screw in a bit of 2by2 behind the wheels of the chair *s*******

lemme show you my extremely .. well .. you'll see.

ill edit with pics in a minute

ah damn. well cameras dead. but ill probably have some by tommorrow evening :P ill try to explain. I have my pedals about... 15 inches off the floor.( I have a 1 foot x 5 foot piece of wood going accross two bars on my desk that are at opposite ends and are already 9 inches high. On top of the wood i have one of those monitor platforms with 2 sections? (see http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51KB1VmBYnL.jpg ) but it has a 1 inch metal part under the top part .. (of the monitor stand) and the legs go UNDER the wood and then the bottom part above the legs sits on top of the wood raising it another 2 inches. Then my pedals sit on that. The stand itself has 1/2 inch holes perforated into the metal. I placed the pedals where they were comfortable, and i outlined it with nuts and bolts wherever it matched the holes.)

And then i have a 2x4 in front of 2 casters on roller chair (chair itself has 1 1/4 inch memory foam on it O_o) and it wasnt long enough to put near wall... or anything. So i had to build out from back of L desk so it would stay still on one side without moving back. On the other side i have 3 drawers one behind the other to hold that side off. So even when i push the brake the hardest i could, it doesnt budge :P

Hope that made ANY sense at all.

P.S. yes, i'm really short.
You can go to a hardware store and buy "castor cups," which are like little saucers (with flat, rubberized bottom surfaces) that you place under the castors, to prevent them from rolling. My computer chair sits on a wooden floor and has five castors. I place castor cups under two of them, when I need to keep my chair from rolling around, and it is completely effective.

Get a small rug, just big enough so that the chair sits on one part and the pedals on the other. The chair will then hold the rug still in relation to pedals and the pedals ca grip the rug
Well, I had the same problem I just used the G25 box and putted it behind the pedals and for my chair (wich is on wheels), just put an old trouser under it so the wheels can't roll
I have my sub woofer behind my pedals, which brings the added bonus of have strange feedback through my feet
