The online racing simulator
Thats enough for me, Im out!
I really was looking forward to this cup, and thought it would be a nice calm enviroment were it would be possible to have some proper racing. I also trained a lot for the 2 events i took part and of course i did improve. I took it really serious and thought so would the others.

Today i saw how much you really care about racing other human people... You pay absolutely no respect to eachother, you dont even care about reading the rules for the cup... I mean safety car was out and someone didnt pay attention and rushed to the front(which is a absolute do not under sc), on the way there he damaged several cars including the leaders one. Under real life conditions this player would have been blackflaged immediatly. This was one of the guys who never was on free practice session and came to late to the qualifing. i mean what is he thinking of? Im god, or something?

But its not only this one incidient... Its just how unrespectful people are, like they park on the track while others are practicing or are drifting trough the pits, they are not paying attention to the Race Control, honking wildly randomly around. Thats just not proper racing, or have seen some real racing where after a practice session someone instead of going back to pits is driving in the wrong way crashing all the other and just means thats alright because practice is over .
There areeven guys who dont show up to any practice session then come to qualy and beg for a setup from the fastest guy around, come on, this is a competition, the others are working hard for their sets... and even if you hand one over to them they do not even say thx or something. This reminds more to the demo servers than to beginner league.

So i hope you have a good time but without me i dont wanna be part of this little kindergarden anymore.
There were also some nice and friendly guys out there like MistaTea, Hammond, CaptainSlow, Dekojester, Hyntty (if i forgot someone, sorry!) and of course the people from DR which all took it serious. I wish you all the best and thank you for racing. I hope you can get the others to grow up!

Agreed completely.

It was a crap race.

There will be sanctions on those responsible, and maybe some external sanctions (to the LFSBC) too.

EDIT: And I apologise wholeheatedly for their behavior, and hope you reconsider.
Agreed here too. I only saw pure crap out there.

If I was an admin of the series, I would ban some people from the competition all together. I also think some of the rules need to be reworked and that people READ them! Some people don't even know racing rules, let alone the series' rules.

I also think that people's behaviour under the SC was of low quality too. Too many people were argueing and chatting during the race, which should not be tolerated this easy.

Anyway, was nice watching you race out there EveningStar, you did everything correctly and maturely.
+1
alike they park on the track while others are practicing or are drifting trough the pits

Absoloutley, I'm not gonna name and shame anyone at the moment but there were some really bad drivers out there.

Even if it is a beginners cup, that's no excuse for being a complete idiot

Thank you for that... For me racing is all about paying respect to the others and knowing your abilities these are the two things which define a good racer for me.

Im really very sorry about that what happend in the series. I would love it to see some respectful racing (Its the close racing, over many laps, WITHOUT contact), if the league gets somehow renewed i would be glad if i could help someway, maybe you need a sc driver who only concentrates on driving... or something else. I have also a lot if improvement suggestions so if you want to hear them just let me know

heh.. It was pretty bad..
Man.. one of my rivals quit Sorry to hear ur leaving us so early Evening. Thanks for the great pressure on the first round. Was a great experience.

As for the race, I just think that next time someone asks a question such as whats a safety car he should be automaticly banned -_-. for the safety of everyone he should be banned before he causes any more damage.

I did get pretty pissed because of SOMEONE who passed everyone under SC and crashed me and caused my right rear wheel to be deformed with excessive cambers O_O. Also got some suspension damage. Was really happy when I saw that red flag...

Anyways I was expecting the race to go badly but not in this way. These are stupid things that shouldnt happen. I was expecting more contact unintensionally not stupid things like passing under SC and ramming everyone on ur way.

=/ I dnt think I'd ever quit simply because of idiots who didnt take the time to read the rules. I'd wait till they come near me and make them regret they ever damaged my car. (A simple PIT manuver does the trick :P).

Anyways... Good luck in the future Evening and hope to see you around in other leagues

Yeah you would to that... but im a little bit more calm then you
Also this isnt what a racer would do

no worry i will be around and watch you winning

No second-thoughts then EveningStar? () Shame to see a sensible driver leave due to a few dumb guys. And it really was just 2 or 3 who made the race go tits up for everyone else.

Don't worry about him. He has a plan that he's discussing with us and will come into force this weekend
thats also why i left quite early, was a bit messy etc , ofc it also counted that i didnt know track at all and just annoyd peaple by crashing etc...Hopefully next races will turn out to be better :/

Lol actually it would depend on my mood. If im feeling patient I'd probably let him in front and he would probably get a penalty or like IRL a black flag. If I was really in a bad mood (Doesnt happen often) I would probably hit him slightly to shake him off a bit. :P

It all depends on how I feel. Usually im calm.
Thats a real pity because it looks like a lot of effort was put into organising this . Good luck for the rest of your league.

Well I think most of us where expecting this chaos... I just hadn't imagined it this way. I imagined it in a way were ppl would bump eachother and stuff not completly ignore the rules and pass and crash during SC deployment.

But yeah it does stink that it had to go that way. I doupt this combo is ever gunna be in this league again lol.

Cheers mate

(Almost) Everything is now sorted and we are just about back on track
ANNOUNCEMENT

EveningStar has returned to the LFS BC as an assistant to myself, Dekojester and the rest of the admin team.

During Free Practice sessions, he will be on hand to offer advice and assistance to those who want it.

During the race, he will be driving the Safety Car whilst Dekojester co-ordinates the field.

Furthermore, he is helping us produce the LFS BC rulebook, which will be public by the end of the week.

Welcome back.

I dropped the last 2 posts, 1 out of place and 2 because it looked silly once 1 had gone

If it helps any, here's my outside-looking-in view, not having seen the racing, but hearing the complaints and recognising the symptoms.

You've got a beginner's cup here. The one thing you can be sure of is that a genuine beginner is going to need to be EDUCATED on what's expected. While it's probably reasonable to ban people who are totally out of order, I think you have to be contextual about it. A lot of beginners may not know there ARE rules. Others may know about them, but not understand the importance of reading them, others read them and don't appreciate how important it is to keep to them, and others are going to just be bad eggs.. Beginners Cup will attract more of these than probably any other league, who attract the same old and experienced drivers each season.

You need to be prepared to assert your rules and, if necessary, make people learn the hard way. Don't be backwards about coming forwards and asserting your rules and regs.

Don't worry Sam

Juuretis has already been banned from R3 and is at the back of the grid for R4 - he can't hurt you anymore

Thanks! I was going to move it to another forum somewhere, realised I couldn't and gave up!

Quote from SamH :Nice advice

Thanks for your helpful advice Sam

Our 'rulebook' will be out before Round 3, and we'll be making sure everyone reads and absorbs them by 'advertising' it both here, during practice sessions and before the race itself.

As you may realise, this is our first League, and so we were surprised at how well round 1 went - no complaints whatsoever.

Round 2 was, frankly, sh**. It all started as I picked possibly the worst combo ever for beginners.

Then mix in some pathetically immature drivers and it was a disaster. We've learnt from our mistakes, reformed some rules that needed clarifying and banned those that needed banning
Our rulebook, produced by EveningStar, Dekojester and (kinda - I uploaded it ) me.

I can't help but laugh at the totally fudged up spacing

You have PM regarding the 'If you can't come to an event rule'
and from me regarding various bits and bobs
