choosing the right music for your videos.
I was wondering how do you choose the right music for your videos, because I don't know if these movie makers now the title and the song already or just look, but how do you do this. I can get all the ideas for a movie just can't choose the music because I only really listen to rap and dance music.
So could anyone help me with this because I don't know how to choose the right music but I do know where to find music, is there a site what helps you with this or not?
I use Mozilla firefox, go on youtube, download the flv using downlooad helper, then conevert it into a mp3

oh ok thanks, anyone else
Use peer to peer sharing softwares, but i wont recommend it. Since they can be traced.

Prolly Torrents, there the safest around.

Search on youtube for tracks.

Depends really, if its something fast paced, maybe some drum n bass, dance etc...

If its slow, some chill out music, trance hiphop whatever man.

Ideally i wouldnt use my favourite songs over drift videos, coz they just wont fit in. You end up hating that favourite song then.

Or keep watching other peoples LFS videos and get some idea to inspire you!.

I've used some FLV converters, they make the track quality so lame when you use it over your video. It just sounds so nasty. Use a high quality track.

oookk, I was on about what type of music I would use for different speeds and type of movies and where I would find the music and what would I search for to get the right search results.
errm i kinda answered the first part of the question...

what kinda music to use..
I actually do it a little different. I might hear a certain piece of music, and i then get ideas about what to put in a video based on the actual music. I also have ideas for video bits that I have yet to find music for, but usually, listening to something will give me inspiration.

Also, try this site:

http://freeplaymusic.com

You can search under feel, style etc and there is just about every different style of music there. You can preview each track and download a high quality MP3 absolutely free, and it is all royalty free too. A large number of tracks also have different length versions (like there is a full version which might be 2m23secs or whatever, then there is also a 60sec, a 30sec version etc). Excellent site.

I know, but you can obviously use different kinds of music then what you said, just asking for others opinions thats all

I'll check it out, thanks
I'm no video editor/maker but if you listen to enough music you'll come across a song and have thoughts going through your head saying 'video material' or something like that.

And it doesn't always have to be the music to your own taste. Personally I can't stand trance or crap like that, but if put with a decent video which is more fast paced and upbeat then it works well.
When I make videos for the League of the America's we have to use non-copyrighted music. 95% of it is techno or electronica based music so if your looking for something like that, non-copyright might be the way to go, plus they are legal... I'm going to tell you the quality of the music is going to go down greatly but like I said, it's just about the only legal way to use music for LFS videos. Thats why you see a copyright at the end of our videos because we actually have a copyright to them, with copyrighted music we couldn't do that.

+1

If you haven't some idea, you probably wont be able to do more than average vids.

Erm, you do know Torrents can be traced too, right?

uTorrent quite happily tells me the IP of other users downloading (and Seeding) the file.

If this news worries you (which it probably should) then PeerGaurdian is probably for you...

Well I've heard other stories, but imo torrent results are always better in quality. So ignorance is bliss

BitTorrent is p2p.

I think he meant that you're less likely to get fake/malware infested files than the likes of Limewire etc.
