The online racing simulator
Enthusia the true console sim(ps2)
For people who played the game could yyou pleas say what you think of it

I have the game myself for year now it not as close as LFS is but its hardcore for console standarts.
I was suprised when i first played it after playing lfs it felkled pretty much the same but just more tamed but, again for console those physics are a thing of beaty,
Caus some cars are in it i have driven in real life.

Forexcample Mazda MX5 from the early 90s
And cicic type R from 2001,
both of them felled verry similair in the game itself not fully have to agree on that in the game thel feeld somewhat less livefull and bit dead, but stil verry nice job

These are 2 good showcases

But in comparisson to lfs it feels sanytised

I think this video's explains most of it

and unfairly put aside by mainstream gamers who prefers PGR and Forza. I have only try it several times and it is a greatt driving game.
Like many others I read the reviews at the time, and GT4 was given the best ratings and Enthusia was ignored. I never bought or played the game, which is a shame and a good reason to ignore most magazine reviews. I like the way some people tried to say GTL and GTR have amazing physics, I played GTL with a few ATC lads today, while it was great fun chucking a Cortina around Zolder, it really opens your eyes to how good LFS feels in comparison.

Aww don't be hatin on Forza, Forza 2 is a pretty good simulator, it's the best racing game i've played on ANY console hands down, I haven't tried enthusia though, maybe I should get it, can probably get it cheap nowadays can't ya
Whilst some of the console racers are fun (the GT series is, and I'll try and get a copy of Enthusia at some point) they aren't realistic. Doesn't detract from the fun, though.

You can get it delivered in the uk for around for £7 from ebay iirc. I'm pretty sure there's a few american ebay auctions up aswell.

I once drove GT4 and Enthusia back to back on the same track with a DFP. I thought GT4 felt more natural. Don't know Forza.
What's the old BMW 02 like in Enthusia? Every time I see it I'm tempted to buy an old PS2 and a copy of the game, just so I can compare it to my old one.

Yes it is damn it! Yes it is.

I got myself a copy as soon as it came out because of this physics demonstration video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPunK-sJIac
(that and because the car in the video looks exactly like the one I drive in real life)

Every single car in Enthusia feels different, and the handling sorta corresponds to what you read about in the magazines. Cars oversteer when you expect them to, weight transfers like you expect them to. You can view forces on all 4 wheels real time like in LFS. Even the behaviour of automatic gearboxes with a torque converter are simulated.

Enthusia is the best driving sim for the PS2. Not the GT series, not Forza2 comes close to the driving.
but, we have a glitchy modeling of auto trannies... it doesn't work... it's just a "smart manual"
We don't have auto trannies, we simply have gear-help, which is different, becuase it helps you shift, not do it for you automatically.
oh... i always thought that the "auto-gear change" was an auto tranny...
It isn't at all, it's more like a second man that is weightless in your car changing the gears for you because for some reason you can't...
Enthusia is the best sim and will continue to be the best unless the new GT game is better, which I doubt.

Other console games feel more "real" because they feel much more like normal, everyday driving which is the limit of most people's understanding of driving.
They all still look boaty and floaty to me, although it seems enthusia might have a slight edge over GT4..
I have played most/all console racers, and the only one that even comes close to breathing on the term sim, is Forza 2.

It's actually got "proper" (albeit fudged in some cases, by the devs own admitance) pacejka tyre physics.
forza comes close to nothing, probably NFS, but nothing else...
