Buttons releasing action while holding keys down?
Hey everyone, i'm not new to LFS, been with LFS every since the first version. Hung out the Simbim forums and played GTR2002, thats how I first heard of LFS.

But anyway, I am new to the forum and recently after formatting my HD and upgrading to the Microsoft Desktop 4000 my LFS has been acting up. Everytime I play, in-game I'll press W (my accelerator on my keyboard) and arfter about a couple seconds the gas will let off but im still holding the button down. Weird right? Now i've been noticing all the buttons do it. I'll bein a corner and my car will stop turning, or ill try to shift and i have to tap it twice. Any idea what could be the issue? I've installed LFS twice and my keyboard software twice as well. Nothing has worked yet. Any ideas or suggestion would be much appreciated.

I can't say for sure, but sometimes you can have problems If you're holding down more than 3 keys at once
yeah totally I know about that but its even when im just holding the accelerator down it lets go. I can't go fast =[ im having a ricky bobby moment hahah
Sorry, I not want to sound like an ****, but I have to ask - is the pit limiter on? If it is, some cars would accelerate up to 80km/h, then the trottle would "turn off", "be liftet off" to keep that speed.

If it`s not that problem I really have no idea what it can be. Is it like this in other games too, or just LFS?
Does this happen also even if you aren't playing?
Try opening notepad and mess with the keys there, holding them down. If they do repeat, nothing should go wrong with the game. If it stops, you have to fix it.

CONTROL PANEL --> Keyboard --> Repeat delay set it to short. --> Repeat rate to fast. I hope I was able to help.
Do you have a wireless keyboard? (I'm sure you know where I'm pointing...)
No matter what keyboard or machine I use, I was never able to hold down clutch, throttle and steer left. I could steer right, just not left.

lol batteries? before i started troubleshooting that was the first thing i did.
Ah! Lol now I know.
Options --> Controls --> (Keyboard) I think it's button control rate. I think it's at 6.00 and the limit thing.. 6.00. Try it ^_^ I think it's the one.

If it is wireless, then you can get this caused by poor connectivity between the keyboard and the receiver.

Are you keeping your mobile phone anywhere near the either of the 2 units? If so I'd suggest moving it to a different location.

I've also seen the same occur in older or industrial buildings with large power cables running through the walls which have created all sorts of dirty signals as current passes through, which in turn has interfered with the wireless signal.

just food for thought
I'd try a software update for the keyboard and mouse, may just need a patch.

The only other time I've ever seen this happen, when it -wasn't- related to sticky-key (you have that covered) was when using an adapter to hook up your keyboard and/or mouse. You cannot use an adapter on some wireless keyboards because it interrupts it. If you're maybe using a PS2 to USB or USB to PS2 adapter, try not using it, if you're able to. Other than that, I'd have to say bad driver support or broken, either way = new keyboard.
I guess maybe, if nothing else works, it's worth disconnecting it entirely, remove the drivers, hook it back up in a different USB port(that is if you're even using USB) and install -newest- drivers and any windows optional update related to the hardware/software.
