The online racing simulator
have u guys taken the time to set up the game properly before driving the corvette?
Alien, there is a world of difference between your opinion and the 'truth'.
Hahahahaha, based on how Alien's post was written, and the time of day, and his feeling's for Kev, I would say that maybe a bit too much to drink?

Hehe still, everyone has there opinion. I would say that it is very frustrating how few worthy sims actually exist. There is so much room for improvement.

@Gabkicks, yeah I've spent ages setting it all up how I like. I'm using realfeel for one.
Oops! Emm yep I apologise to everyone for my rather whisky fuelled statements. I think I'll fit a breathaliser to my PC to stop me getting access after a session.
Well Alien is always looking for bottle of whiskey, a sim bottle offcourse .

But in the end off the day I due believe he has a point. Lately we play a lot of rFactor amongst the HR team. I do like rFactor but as in physics it isnt as near as LFS is. On the other hand LFS doesnt have the real cars and tracks. Graphic speaking LFS has a long way to get better if you look at rFactor. Depends on the mod off course.

Generally speaking I belive LFS is the real sim for the time being, but rFactor does get close.

Look out number of the devil
Ok it's this threads fault that I just spent 2 hours to get this rFactor thingie work properly. Corvette V2 + Nordschleife V2 is fun.

I'm not surprised. Making rFactor actually drivable must have involved copious amounts of witchcraft.
Just downloaded this and took it for a quick spin around the ring, such a nice car to drive!
Niels can u tell wich cars are u making atm?
At the moment I'm working not so much on cars but on more excel based tools so I can 'spit out' cars much quicker and easier.

This will be used to make the faster cars from GTL, the gtc 76 class with BMW's, 911s, 906, Ford Capri, Corvette.. If that goes well, and the tools work, it might be that eventually the other classes in GTL will also be created using these tools and some of my views on cars.

These cars are quite good fun with often 300+ horsepower and 1100ish kg and some sort of grip from slicks but not too much. They are a bit more raw regarding torque curves and dampers. The experience sofar is that it will be quite an entertaining drive with plenty of 'movement' in the cars.

While rFactor certainly isn't ultra realistic, it seems simply going for realish numbers leads to cars that are fairly easy to mess around with (not to mention fun!) but getting those laptimes down is quite a challenge.

I hope it'll turn out well!
well i have a suggestion maybe lol, the Ariel Atom Should be a nice car to develop imo
Als je een tester nodig hebt voor je mods mag je mij altijd vragen
Now I have been testing this Corvette around. It is fun, fun until you start to slide. That ISI style FFB just ruins the fun. Even with realfeel plugin it just acts so weird. Why steering gets so sticky when car starts to slide? Feels like my tires are melting or something. And steering doesn't really center properly. I can't do any fast correct movements with my steering wheel because of this.
hmmm loose gas and gives little not to much or else ull spin really fast

Yes that's what I've gotta do, but it just kills the fun when youre not able to floor your car because of FFB what sucks.

I just tried to have fun with Corvette in Leeds Airport track, but it just got me to... ARGH. Maybe I just uninstall this crap called rFactor again.
no, its not the ffb, if u throttle TO much the car will spin because of the overpower. Handle it like a baby
No, it's the FFB, because it keeps blocking me to do fast steering movements.
hmm, pick realfeel plugin and set ur ffb to OR -60 Or 60 u should feel wich is right
i think it was -60
As like I said already, with or without realfeel it sucks.
well then its your driving
I agree, I found the FFB just awful, not matter what settings I tried
Does anyone know if the "est. cornering" is correct in the garage/basic? Is the value calculcated from somewhere or is it som kind of modifier in the tire physics files?

I ask because in most mods that value is rediculously high. Like 1.6g for 60s american muscle cars .

No you're wrong. I certainly know how car's steering wheel feels IRL when you drive it like cars should get driven. And rFactor's FFB just feels like from outer space or something. When car starts to slide, car kinda wants to correct itself and you feel it from your steering wheel, but in rFactor it just does this weird thing and makes it feel like you're on parking lot with wide tires and without power steering = no possibilities for fast correct movements.
my real feel ain't working, no FF input to the game in any sort (strange it was working okay some times ago), how can I "reset" the whole plugin and go back to square one?
Quote from Gil07 :I agree, I found the FFB just awful, not matter what settings I tried

have you tried changing the spring/damping setting in windows since RF use a different setting than LFS.

My last impression of realfeel when it works, it was very very good.
