Well, I have read tons of suggestions and here's a good one. Remove the Improvement Suggestions from the forum. Firstly because it gives the invalid (or false) impression that it would be taken seriously, although I am sure a few have been seriously taken by the devs but I am also sure the devs have thought of 85% of the suggestions themselves...

Secondly, and most importantly 2 things happen repeatably in this section. People don't use the search button cause they think they have the best idea and are the first to come up with it, which has a 99.8% chance that the idea was thought of before and a 93% chance that its actually been posted here. Then conversations go on about how the ideas been posted and it lowers the morale of person that came up with the idea, even if turned down lightly which sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't happen so lightly.

Third - When the idea gets brought up that is different it generates more negative feelings in 2 ways, either the idea is promoted and people are sad its not already in the game, or the idea itself gets negative feedback, or well not negative but not really positive.

Lastly - Go ahead and yell at me because I am going to make a contradiction to what I just wrote: We should NOT remove this section because then you get the fools who will post their "grand" ideas everywhere else flooding the remaining bits of the Forum...

So now, do you have a suggestion!?

It helps keeping the suggestions inside a limited space.

If they close the improvement suggestions, people will just start posting them everywhere in the forum.

Plus i'm not as sure as you about the Devs not taking some suggestion into account. Even if it's 3 % of all the suggestions made it's still worth having such a forum.

I'd just have the new threads here premoderated IMO, we only get about six or so day. That way the spammy/rubbish ones won't get through.

I see the IS section like this; great minds may think alike, but one mind alone never did nearly as much as two, or more.
One person's idea may no make it into LFS (or it may), but the topic at hand points out the validity of a suggestion; to see if it's really worth it or not.
As it goes, one thought comes from another, thus I say the IS section, while may not be looked at my, gives us something to think about, and something the devs to look at when they're bored.

I wasn't saying they don't look here but most of the ideas (not all) are pretty obvious, tracks, cars, features, features, features... And like my last statement said- They shouldn't remove the section : )

This would be great, and that list that is stickied could be updated constantly, I think its maintained well enough as is (not sure as I don't check it often) but this would take a lot of time from a moderator which I am sure is the reason it is not presorted.

Best suggestion-thread for days (Even there is no suggestion. First OP says that it should be removed and proves why, secondly OP says that it shouldn't be done and also proves that).

But still, you got point. It is better to have one section for improvement suggestions (Even devs wouldn't even read 'em), otherwise some of those suggestions would end up elsewhere on the forum (As mentioned earlier).

However, if you can't stand up these "new" suggestions, why do you read this section of the forum?

I don't really read them, I am just voicing an opinion. I do notice them when I click the "New Posts" search. It doesn't annoy me all that much I was just posting my idea and ya, I completely contradicted myself in the first post and did so knowing that I was doing it. I was actually wondering what other people thought of the never ending circle of recycled ideas. And thats all nothing more, nothing less

The one reason I have posted couple of reposts is that sometimes it is hard to find correct search words. But ya, I bet you can find "S3 release date", "where is my XRT" and "I want to have X car" easily... Assuming you aren't lazy enough not to use search.

I was joking This has actually been suggested before, though.

I wonder if it's gotten so bad that even if a new idea were suggested, maybe even a good one, it would be dismissed out of habit.

I don't believe it to be the case for the community as a whole, but it may be for some individuals.

Maybe even me.

I have a suggestion: I think LFS should get better. I won't go into specifics, that's for the devs to sort out; just better.

The OP has been suggested before, and it does have some merit.

However, some of the recent additions to the game have been as a direct result of suggestions made by the community. Or at least that's how it appears. It may be purely coincidence that Scawen got round to them just as they were being suggested here, but I don't think so.

We do get an absolute assload of crap suggestions, I can't deny that. But every so often someone adds something that nobody else has thought of, yet everyone thinks would be fantastic. I guess it's just a whole wheat/chaff issue.
