The online racing simulator
Well, technically Glock didn't beat Trulli because neither actually fnished the race, so to speak. Or so I at least hope
I'm quite shocked I did so well with my team. I'm hoping the next races go as well Although I think all it'd take is some more drivers to actually finish the race and my points could go either way

The first bonus question announced: http://www.f1racemanager.com/bonusquestion.asp

Cheers laddy

A perfect contribution to filling in the last couple of hours at work today

edit 1 - the question isn't written very clearly is it? I thought at first glance they mean the number of times ferrari have secured the constructors championship at said venue? Or is just how many times have ferrari won this race, hmmm.

edit 2 - ah ha, just found the site they took the original wording from, it helps a lot
I've emailed them because I didn't understand which answer they were looking for.

If you already know, can you tell me, because I know the answers for all three possibilities.
Trick question ?

Check out the wikipedia page for Malaysian GP, it kind of spells it out for ya
Obviously I'm a retard, because http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaysian_Grand_Prix doesn't spell anything out. I already know the answers to how many:

Constructors championships have been clinched at the Malaysian GP
Drivers championships...
Both (added together)...
How many times Ferrari has won at Malaysia

But I don't know what's it's asking.

How many times did Ferrari win the Formula One World Championship in Malaysia?
"How many times did Ferrari win the Formula One World Championship in Malaysia?"

I'd guess that the question is simply about how many times Ferrari has won or secured the constructor's world championship in Malaysia? Nothing to do with race wins or driver's title...

Soo, depending where the Malaysian F1 event was on the calendar you can pretty easily count the possibilities... Don't take my word for it though

If I don't kill myself in the process, I might release this excel spreadsheet...

any chance of the .xls please ?
I think it's just asking for the number of times Ferrari have won the race.

From the Wiki page...........
"Year by year
A pink background indicates an event which was not part of the Formula One World Championship."

Therefore, I think they have used the terminology from the wiki page to construct their question

I realise they have to have wrong answers, but would they really ask if Ferrari have won the constructors title 15 times at Sepang?

Be interesting to see the response from the f1racemanager site admin tho.....

It's not really ready yet, probably won't be on this week either
Because of the email, they've changed the question. There is now no ambiguity.
Wtf? That's a completely different question now.

Winning the Malaysian GP != winning the Formula One World Championship

But that's actually even easier to find out with Google.
I got it right!
I think you can change your answer until 11:59:59, Friday 21st March, 2008.

So the question went from challenging to dead easy
The question went from 100% ambiguous to 100% non-ambiguous.

They didn't change the question - that's what it meant all the long. Would you REALLY have guessed the original question was asking how many times Ferrari had won in Malaysia? No, probably not. So would that have been fair? Would you have minded when on Saurday you looked at the website and discovered the challenging question was, due to poor wording, actually easy and not at all what you thought it was????

What I meant was that the question (the way I understood it, (how many times have Ferrari secured the constructor's championship in Malaysia)) was quite good question for someone like me who does not remember too much about the statistics. It had the difficulty level quite right and as a question it wasn't something one can find in google in 5 seconds, like the new one.

Of course it is much better that the new question is 100% non-ambiguous and the question itself can not be misunderstood - they fixed the error. Nothing bad to say about that.

All I'm saying, there is absolutely no challenge at all at knowing or finding the correct answer to the new question. I wish they would have chosen a harder question.
Quote from tristancliffe :The question went from 100% ambiguous to 100% non-ambiguous.

Pah, clear enough with a little applied thought
I agree too...I had zero doubt about the sense of that question. Just needed to read it twice and that was it!
Turns out I was wrong if they didn't change the answer along with the question.
Yeah it's an easier question now, but i think we need all the cash we can get after the first race. But, after the Glock beating Trulli fiasco, i'm guessing the answer will be "option G: 47 times"

Anyway, they're leaving the 'bets' a bit late arn't they ?. 1st practice starts in 15hrs or so...
Something's telling me my spot in joint 3rd place is going to be utterly trashed after the next race!
hmmm it seems they have published the bets but the title of the page says: Bets for the Australian Grand Prix

I hope it's a mistake cuase I'm picking my choices
Is it just me or is the site down atm?

I'm heading out on a gargantuan session tonight so won't be around to place my bets

B*gger........

nb - mind you, the spectacular lack of any correct answers at the Australia round means I might not be missing out on too much
Quote from HVS5b :Is it just me or is the site down atm?

It's working for me atm.

Does anybody else think that the three yes/no bonus questions are much easier/more predictable than last week?
