Quote from N I K I :but it had quali

So does CTRA, the grid for the next race is dependent on your fastest time of your current session. So if you set your fastest time of the day in your first race, IIRC even midrace joins are accepted, that stays with you until the track changes or you leave the server for longer than a certain period of time.

It's not a specific quali 'session' persay, but there is definitely a qualify type system in place, so if your a 'fast' driver you can be in the front for your very first race.
We'll see how things go. Perhaps we'll be able to drop TBO from Race 2 completely, once and for all
o yea it has that system, sorry by bad. But CTRA2 is boring now, i haven't been there for ages. I loved old TBO racing, and this now this LFR ain't fun for me. Well we still can drive TBO, but we cant win, at least overall, and that ruins fun for me
edit: so i stop by CTRA1 and have some fun

The Fusion TBO server is online now, TBO only 24/7.
We're not fighting over racers, our mission is to get good racing going where we can. We haven't been able to keep TBO alive with a TBO-only server, but maybe Fusion can.

I'm very fond of TBO, it's my favourite class, but an empty CTRA TBO server is no use to anyone and it's a CTRA resource that can be better used in other ways. If Fusion can keep TBO alive on LFS, I'll be delighted. It's something we haven't managed to do, and it's not for a lack of trying
I agree sam. I don't know where this "competition" element has come from. We just wanted to re-instate the close TBO racing by providing a server. We will install simple tools like LFS lapper to make it a little more interesting. If it fails.. it fails. If not, then good for us i guess.
To the Fusion guys, if ye are running a TBO server, please restrict or even remove the FXO.

That's a really weak argument, tbh. You only have fun when you are winning?

+1

So your saying - If you guys run a TBO server, don't run TBO?

In the Easter cup race last night it was level between the XRT's and FXO's all race. An XRT won the whole thing, so you can't really say that FXO is far better.

It depends on the tracks.

You haven't said yet if you intend to do a track rotation or if you only change it once or twice per week/month so nobody knows if the FXO will have an advantage.

I look in the server browser, but i didn't see it.

All we have at the moment is a raw server. We're in the process of fixing the dedi box, installing lapper on and adding a proper rotation system.

What I'm tempted to do is to sit down and learn some basic insim, so I can make a simple code that makes the server a bit better to race on.

@Sam - I agree about the people not joining issue. I find it very wierd that about 70% of online racers are in servers with 3-4 people in them. I don't get that? Surely its better to be in a server with more people, rather than racing with 3?

@Jbirdaspec - The server is undergoing some maintenence at the moment, will be back shortly.

Ah yes, that's what I said

On most combos, the FXO is about .5 to 1 seconds ahead per lap. It ruins short sprint races, which ye are trying to achieve here, aye?

I'd suggest a 5% intake restriction to the FXO, after all, you're trying to achieve close racing.
For short races like 5 laps, FXO really needs to be restricted a bit.
It's faster on spint races, but as already said below, in a 10 laps race FXO looses the match. My tyres were burning to the end of yesterdays competition, even I managed to get a race set for the config.
Hmm, well if we start messing about with restrictions - you guys better actually use the server.
Sam has said it and I am saying it too, we don't care if people are setting up servers, the more the merrier =)

What Sam and I agreed though was we will adjust the tracks on CTRA to make the TBO racing a bit more user friendly.

There are a couple other tricks up our sleeve to make it more enjoyable, but I have to talk to Sam to see if it's feasible.
