Connection keeps timing out when trying to connect to RaceSimulations
Hi all! well, I'm having a weird problem with a site that I used to be able to visit with no problem. Whenever I try to connect to RaceSimulations my connection keeps timing out, however, whenever I try to connect through a site like HideMyAss, I can connect. I've tried pinging RaceSimulations through the command prompt but keeps timing out as well.

I have this problem with some other sites too and I don't know how to fix it

So would anyone know how I can fix this?

could possibly be a DNS problem? try openDNS and see if it solves your problems.

Yes it does... By entering the domain in there, it presumes its down for you, as it has no other way to check that. Then it compares it against responses from various servers around the world, to see if it's up or not for everyone else.
Thanks guys for the help

@Deko: didn't work but thanks anyway.
Something else as well that seems to be a bit odd. I might be wrong about this but for some reason, whenever I go to a site that I can access, the status bar at the bottom keeps flickering between "Waiting for www.[site].com" and "Transferring from www.[site].com". Is that normal?

Also, I feel that sites are loading slower too. I have around 10 tabs for my homepages in Firefox and I remember that a little while ago, they'd all load quickly but now, it seems to be a bit slow. Also, before whenever I used to visit a site, most of the images would already have been loaded and I basically see everything and not have to wait patiently for images to load.

I think I pressed a weird shortcut in Firefox yesterday thats screwed this thing with sites up. I meant to load a new tab (CTRL+T) but ended up pressing CTRL+(something else) and then all the text in the tabs had a dark grey outline. I've tried reinstalling Firefox but for some reason, it still has all my old settings even though I deleted my firefox folder after unninstalling it.

you have to uninstall firefox then delete the profiles folder, not just the firefox folder in prog files.

Quote :C://documents and settings/FOO1/application data/mozilla/firefox/profiles/FOO2/bookmarks.html

FOO1 will be your user name on your system. It might be admin or user; depending on how your machine was set up.

FOO2 will be a random directory name generated by Firefox when it was installed. It is different on every installation.

delete the profiles folder but you can backup bookmarks.html for obvious reason. Should let firefox start from fresh.
