It's not really harsh that they have to register to download the game, many games are like that, just register an account, so you can access the download page, that's all.
Whats stopping them regging another account? Free email accounts are 10 a penny. The only real way of stopping it is ip addy banning, or mac banning.
Isn't there such thing, like Sony Vegas 8 Pro Trial and Photoshops have, your time is limited and it somehow blocks it, didn't try re-installing it, but you won't get anymore trial time.
Quote from Krammeh :Every single thing that I suggest or release all I get is shot down.

This community can **** off, for as far as im concerned. It's pointless.

Bad community or not so great/repost suggestions?

I'd go for repost suggestions, I've seen the time limited demo idea a few times and someone has even posted the links.

...and dummy spitting, never, ever gets you anywhere. You're much better off just forgetting about the thread.
Quote from SamH :[edit] Ahh..hmmm.

If thats about what i think thats about, devs already know, as of early this morning.
Yes, thats by adding things to the registry, and proberly the most foolproof method available. Still can be worked around through :/. Thing is, if the devs wanted the demo to be time limited they would of done it long ago.
^ Registry is the worst "security" check ever.

Seriously, this subforum should be closed or at least made read only for a while. 50% of the suggestions are for all intents and purposes crap, 49.5% are repeats of already discussed-to-death suggestions, and the remaining 0.5% of good suggestions are ignored by the devs anyway, either because they're not noticed or because the dev priorities are different to begin with.

I don't know what the purpose of keeping up the illusion anybody cares about dorifto king #27's suggestion of adding new cars/tracks/bodykits/better smoke/a drift car/higher steering lock/etcpp. is? Also having users make valid requests only to get shot down or ignored because it's the 13th time the topic has came up isn't that great either. So what is the purpose of this subforum? A common waste bin to prevent the other forums being flooded with crap/duplicate suggestions?

I completly agree with everything you said.
And I have exactly the same feelings.

This thread should have been locked by the mods
at least after post #8

I must admit I find the whole attitude as rather bizare.

Why does anyone who has paid for an S2 license care about how long someone can use the demo version of the game? You've paid your money, you're getting a much higher level of gameplay and access to better racing for your money. Why do you care that someone should be able to play the limited demo version ad infinitum without choosing to pay for the superior version? It can't be jealousy surely as how can anyone be jealous of someone getting something inferior for nothing?

I'm pretty sure he's saying about how many more people would get S2 if the demo wasn't as it is now - unlimited with 3 cars and 2 tracks

He wants more competition, and possibly more importantly, LFS as a business to succeed.

On the request of the OP, I've locked the thread. It has been discussed to death before, and those deathly threads have been linked in this thread for further reading
