Joystick problems.
I use a saitek x52 joystick for LFS and i also use the throttle that comes with it for my accelerating/braking, this is a bit of a problem though as i can't apply the brake whilst having a certain % of throttle at the same time.

So i figured i'd make a button command for the brake and use the throttle exclusively for that but it wouldn't work. If i set them to seperate i need a different axes to use for the brake and the other axes just feel weird if i use them. If i set it to buttons it doesn't allow me to use the throttle.

(making them axes cancels out button setups etc aswell :/)

Any help?
Put throttle to the Z-axis and brake to the thumb-axis (Yes, I own x52 also. I tried it (For a laugh) in LFS for couple of minutes. After that, I used it to simulate handbrake...)

Not a bad idea, but if you mean the thumb axis as one of the rotary knobs then it wont spring back which might cause a few problems.

I've not done it myself, but i'd try putting a little spring into the slider recess on the throttle and using that as a brake (yes, i have this joystick too, the Pro Version though )

I mean the slider in throttle-controller. The one that doesn't rotate (And is grey).

Yes, it won't spring back, but neither is the throttle-axis. You'll have to set it to zero manually by pulling your finger back.
